my dad is religious and im a trans man. i needed a transphobic viewpoint for a paper i was writing so i asked him his thoughts. he freaked out on me saying he was "unbiased" and he was angry i never talked to him. he was never in my life to begin with for a reason lol. after his rampage, he sent me prageru's transphobic articles telling me to "learn something" it was the best god damn paper i've ever written! then my highscchool graduation was my big coming out about my name change and gender. my dad asked me about it over text (the graduation was being streamed too) and i told him that this was what i want to go by and that im no longer his daughter, im his son. he went "okay girly i believe you! i support you! [deadname], i love you so much!" then went on about how being trans is a sin. my graduation and pride were on the same day. so while my dad was raging at me over text for being a failure of god, i was out being my best gay and trans self with a mass amount of other lgbtq+ people. i never felt more powerful :)

Hello! I’m a young Christian girl who grew up with a crazy family like this. Personally, I believe that Jesus doesn’t give a crap about homosexuality, since he literally hung out with prostitutes and tax collectors (who stole people’s money) and called us all his friends :) Christianity is about loving everyone like Jesus would, forgiving, supporting, and being friendly to all! my sister and I didn't want to go to church because last week, they started a fund-raiser to help get rid of abortion. I went in for my mother's sake because I know she really wanted me to go, but I ended up leaving half way through mass because I just couldn't take it. in the car, my mom started screaming about how we "can't do one fcking thing for her" per week (she says this about everything) and how selfish and awful we are. I stayed silent but my sister decided to defend herself, leading to my mom saying that if she wanted to stop going to church, my sister should just move out and leave our family. When we got home, she told us we weren't allowed to eat any food she bought (all food in the house) and took away all our electronics, saying we had to do chores all day. My sister and I had to go out by bus and eat at a restaurant. We are 13 and 15 btw. Edit: guys, I appreciate the support in the replies but you can rest assured that my mom isn't normally like that. She's a good person. Idk what caused her to be THAT mad, but I don't think its worth calling child services.

Right? An extremely easy example to make (that doesn't necessarily reflect my own belief) is "I understand how science makes sense, and I am pretty sure that it is a good way to understand the world. I think Big Bang happened, but since we don't know how, I choose to believe that it was caused by God going 'skadoosh' and making a universe" Incredibly simple way for science and religion to coexist. Not to mention that one of the original arguments for doing science in the first place was understanding the world that has been created by a God, so we can all be amazed at how well he did it.

I'm Wiccan. I wear an upright pentacle necklace, I evan get a lot of complements from people saying they like my necklace. I work at fast food for money. One Sunday afternoon, a customer came in and saw my necklace. He asked if I was satanic. I simply answered no, I'm Wiccan. And then he acussed me of poisoning everyone's food, and called me satanic again. What happened next, he called the fucking police on me. They showed up, talked to the guy outside for about 10 min. They then walked in and asked if I was doing alright. So what the guy told the cops is that he wanted them to arrest me and put me in the chair so I could rot in hell. I said to them there is no poision. Besides, its against my religion to harm people. The police thn gave me a handshake, then told the guy to go away. Everything went back to normal, and still get the complements about my necklace.

Out of curiosity what do you make of the Latin Mass (the Mass as it was done before Vatican II) if you’ve heard of it? Not too long ago I would’ve been featured on this sub because in hindsight I was a very intolerant type of Catholic who demanded other Catholics to follow all the doctrines of the Church (and I really looked down on the ones who get accused of being “cafeteria” about it) while cherry picking on the Vatican II documents like no tomorrow and it all probably stemmed from an insecurity about my own faith identity as I was raised in a conservative home where we went to Mass every Sunday. Even though the Latin Mass parish I used to go to is supposed to be in communion with Rome and is approved by the diocese ever since I left the movement altogether it has become full of anti-vaxxers and the friends I had there were sometimes more toxic than I was, I wouldn’t be surprised if many of them now think Pope Francis is a heretic or the like.
