Your speculative fiction videos are amazing. Bakker, Dick, Herbert, they all deserve recognition by the literary establishment. Would love to see a video talking about Gene Wolfe.

Loved this episode. Cnaiur with the skin spies has some fascinating stuff. Thank you for pointing out Esmenet's revelations while reading the Saga's. Such a great worldbuilding sequence which also connects her back to Achamian and his dreams. We can see him through her eyes in that moment of self reflection... Akka...

...the four books that follow. hmm. Please consider tackling the Aspect-Emperor with your learned commentary. There is a lot of meat on those bones and well deserving the attention both as a work of art and philosophy. I've been a big fan of this series on Speculative Fiction for awhile now but I think these last three lectures to be my favorites, I really dig a philosopher dishing this up. I was going to say for you to cover the next four books would be a fitting monument to a greatly neglected series, but monuments are to remember dead things and the fact that we are talking about them here means these books are very much alive and I want to thank you for bringing them to my attention.

@@GregoryBSadler Maybe its time to double down and do two episodes of Speculative Fiction a month! lol Just joking, I know your a busy man and I appreciate all your content. I've just become fascinated with these books, R. Scott Bakker, the internet war he fought with the alt-right and the radical feminist when the were published, the after life of these books(personally I feel like an old cynical prospector suddenly finding a wide vein of pure gold), and finally speculating what he might be writing or not. Again thank you for covering these.

I doubt you'll have time for it anytime soon but I found reading about the Aspect Emperor to be a lot more interesting than reading about the Prince of Nothing. One day, when you are running out of content, that would definitely be something worth examining. Thanks for taking the time to do this. I enjoyed it.
@GregoryBSadler3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha! I don’t imagine that ever running out of content. It’s more the opposite!
@HungryHippo73 жыл бұрын
@@GregoryBSadler Ha! Perhaps I could amend my statement to "inspiring content". Though I suspect that still wouldn't lead to any amendment in your response. Also a minor clarification, I meant the Great Ordeal as a whole, not just the Aspect Emperor. Anyways, keep at it. You've earned a new sub from me!

I just finished the prince of nothing trilogy for the first time and absolutely loved it. This lecture series seems great, thanks you, but I have just paused it at 7:19 when you start talking about the foreshadowing for the Aspect Emperor series, is there there spoilers for those books in this video? If so I will have to come back to it when i have finished the entire second apocalypse series
