This is a very nice and tasty dish. Very popular in the south. I make this often. Just a small change is that I either soak the moong dal for about an hour, or as I prefer, roast it on medium flame till it is lightly fragrant. By doing either of these steps the phytic acid in the dal is reduced. Otherwise it can lead to digestive / gas problems. This is true of any dal or whole grains. While frying onions I add some ginger and hing also. We can make similar dal with greens like methi, Palak or Hongone soppu also. I have not tried with any other greens. Thank you for a nice video, and clear / patient explanation, as usual.
