If I'm not mistaken, I believe the bowl is just *partially filled with water* to create that sound...I saw someone else using that technique in a different video...it does make a most interesting sound.

It's just an antique singing bowl. They're all singing bowls, just different sizes /notes. The small chime-like things are called Tingshas.
