You forgot the point that most of the investors were Teenagers and Gamers who had soft spot for GameStop. Also Robin hood Stop trading of that stock to stop this which creates a issue about free market.

Nah.That would be a lie. There's no reason to have a "soft spot" for GameStop.Especially on reddit where it's more controversial policies of past are very widely known. The movement was driven by pretty much what the video said: 1)People wanted to earn money and this was a very good opportunity. 2)The hedge funds are really manipulative towards markets and this was a very good opportunity for a political statement. And then,the motivation by the big guys like Elon Musk,the billionaires' crybaby reactions and the memes pushed people forward to invest more.

Let me clear why this can't happen in India: Every Stock has an upper and lower limit for the trading hours. If any stock hit that limit, there will no trading at all in that stock (Orders will fail) Generally this limit is around +10-20% to -10-20% in our market.

Another way to Short or Short sell a Stock is to do through future or Options of that stock. One can Short a stock by 'Selling Call Option' or by 'Buying Put Option' of that stock.
