Skip the 1st generation start at the 2nd generation 2012. New headlight design more interior features. 2012 was however the last year that a V8 or Supercharged V8 is available. Also if you want real leather instead of Leatherette interior in 2013 you have to step up to the Portfolio edition to get the real leather. Instead of buying the bottom of the line XJ that I could afford. Buy the top of the line XF, if the bottom of the line XF is what you can afford instead buy the top of the line XE. Same with any luxury cars. MBenz, Audi, etc. I've always preferred to have the top of the line no matter which line I'm buying. Just my opinion.

the 1 generations of theese was best built and quality.. so if you want one buy the 2008. they needed to make the 2008 the best of all when it was the start for theese modells and they didnt want to loose any customer with bad parts and so on.
