Vannes Fetes Historiques / Medieval festival

Every year the city of Vannes holds its Fetes Historiques, a Medieval Festival which is a fantastic day out, the city is crowded with people and I would estimate over 1000 people took part in the parade dressed in medieval costume ranging from knights in amour, the nobles, the peasants, the entertainers and the jesters. Other cities also hold Medieval festivals the next being at Hennebont on 30/31 July, at that event there are also displays of archers and forms of combat including jousting.
