R12i IMU Bias Calibration

I’d love a video on referencing a line while staking out a different line, or even point. Also a little more into detail on stakeout options (to the line, o/s and station to the line, skew to the line) thanks!

Those are really good ideas. I will mark them down and see if we can't do a video on just the different staking options. When you ask about referencing a line, would you mean having say a dxf background that has line work visually displayed on the map, then selecting a different line to stakeout. That way you can see both, but you are actually just staking the one?

Weston Schneider yeah when I try to reference a line it says I have to make it an .rxl, which I have but then I still can’t select the line to reference or manually type it in. It would make my job much less difficult. We used to use siteworks and referencing a line was just the push of a button.

Also another topic I think people could benefit from is offsetting from a calc’d point. Where you can’t create a line from 2 points to get a station and offset to the line.

@@03cnutty In Access it depends on what the original background file is. If it is a simple DXF, you need to select it in the layers option on the map first (check mark), then tap it once more (check mark with a dotted box) to make the dxf able to be selected and staked. If it is an xml file, then yes, Access will ask you to simply give the RXL file a name and Access with create it automatically. Hope that helps.

@@03cnutty This would also be a good video. You would first tap both those points on the map screen and tap and hold to create the line. Then once created, tap the line itself and select stakeout. We might be able to just work that into the first video you mentioned because at that point we would be selecting the station / offest from line in Access to stake it out. Thanks again. Wes

Hmm I've been measuring points for the past 3 months and I just now noticed it says that my ebubble requires calibration.. I hope it's not the end of the world

Does the windchill affect the equipment(Ref 0:48, this video), or is the ambient temperature the true temperature of concern ?

I would say the wind promotes the rapid cooling of the equipment, any latent heat is more quickly dissipated in the wind, once the ambient temperature is reached, no further cooling occurs...so, if the calibration is adaptable to a slow temperature change, and is thrown off by a rapid change, then it would occur on spectrum dependent on a range of temperatures and wind speed...or alternatively, I don’t know...
