I completely agree with you that the Westchester Yard tends to keep the trains dirty and rusty. However, this may be due to limited funding for cleaning the trains. It is recommended that a significant increase in the budget be allocated to enhance the cleaning services.

When the brand new R262/As open and close ways comes to replace all the R62AS R62S on the 1 3 6 S lines. They still have to find a builder for the R262s. They have not been rewarded as yet.

They will probably get their overhaul when the r262s go into service

And when they do get their overhaul, I think they should replace the LCD destination displays with newer LED displays because nowadays the LCD displays on the R142A can get pretty damaged.

And you have people that think Westchester did a terrible job with the R142As. To me they were doing a very good job on the 6 until cbtc came to the 7 line and that’s when the R142As started to get treated like crap. When the R262s come I would love to see the 6 line 50/50 with 220 R142As from the 4 back to the 6 with 15 or 16 sets of R262. Considering that the R142A can handle cbtc it makes sense to keep them
