Good idea with the sump temp sensor, I'll be doing this now. Was also thinking about adding some more on the sides for extra capacity, mainly because it's got a big dent.

I need your help 😂 I'm stuck on rb30 base timing,. I line up the far left mark on harmonic balancer and then install distributer with rotor facing #1 however it doesn't start. It'll start if I remove distributer bolt and turn the dizzi a mile and still won't run great. Did run good but as soon as it got warm it would run like crap. However the water temp on gauge didn't work, but did work a week ago when it was running half alright.

rb30s are not interference motors, unless the cams have been changed

VerifiedAdventures from my measurements with dome tops, oem hg and std cam/valve leaves around 2 thou clearence. I would certainly call this an interference engine. Some get luckier than others, however, nothing like a non interference engine as far as clearence goes.

@@BoostGumps So basically it depends if your engine is up to temperature or not. 😂 Thermal expansion will take up that gap and some.
