There are quite a few independent manufacturers and their vehicles are top class built for specific purpose. I had a pleasure of visiting the BRV production line in Bloemfontein and I was impressed by the simplicity of the method to produce complex vehicles. These beat many brands in the market. One of my neighbours have been driving a BRV for 4 years now and it still performs and looks new. Another manufacturer is F&R Catai, their head office is in Roodepoort and they have another production plant in Jetpark. They also produce armoured vehicles and Road-Rail vehicles, they export to a few countries including the middle east as their vehicles are built for touch terrain.

What is the 'on the road price' in South Africa, and can you convert this to the equivalent in pounds sterling? Would you think of getting someone to do a 'test drive or a review' of the vehicle?
