Chris Cornell will always be one of my favorite rock singers and songwriters! SG is back and we've got an amazing new album from them! King Animal rocks!

I have the original 7" blue vinyl with this and Nothing To Say on it. 2 of their best songs ever. Long Live the memory of grunge and cut-off jean shorts!

Chris Cornell ....Sell out/Not A Sell Out.... In the Early 80's there friends called them sell outs for signing with SST, and later again when they signed to A&R(later A&M), and again when Pearl Jam and Soundgarden formed Temple of the Dog, and again when their 'new shit' wasn't heavy enough like badmotorfinger... when Chris joined up with RATM to form audioslave, ... when he did the soundtrack for Casino Royale, and again when he covered billie jean. Chris never gave a shit, he is an artist.

Funny you should mention that. I remember some of my bandmates back in the day used to make fun of that name Truly. They had a hilarious way of renaming them "TREASURE". I stopped laughing altogether when I caught Truly at a '96(?) Pain In The Grass show w/ the Posies and the Minus 5 and --- with the exception of Roth's constant between song tuning --- had my mind blown completely. I actually was looking for some Truly here yesterday but didn't find any.

Phil was still on the album Power Metal, and you can find plenty of pictures of him all glammed up.

hahaha, fuckin brilliant comment
@220blue12 жыл бұрын
I wasn't disagreeing with ya at all Hammer. In fact, you educated me on the early years of Pantera. But Power Metal was the first album with Phil and the sound on that album was heavier than any previous. Then came Cowboys, where they turned the corner and left the glam behind. Just saying, Phil like so many at that time, was sick of make-up, hairspray and cheese-so he kicked that fucker in the teeth...and unleashed!
@220blue12 жыл бұрын
(oops) don't claim...then came Cowboys...and the rest is history.

Pantera had several albums before Cowboys From Hell that they tried to ignore the existence of later. They were more glam metal then, even more so in looks.

@ManilaSyndicate "Pantera and Alice in Chains were dressing up and sounding like Poison" REALLY!!!!!!! Did you really post that???? I bet Phil got mistaken for Brett Michaels in bars all the time back in the day. And when Layne N the boys were in the middle of "Man in a Box", people were confusing it with "Every Rose has a Thorn". That is some stupid shit my brother.
