R50 R52 R53 Mini Window Glass Adjustment

this video will hopefully help you adjust your door glass on a First Gen Mini. Mine had a window regulator changed at some point in its life and the glass wasnt adjusted afterwards.
There was a lot of wind noise on the motorway as the glass was badly sealed.
It was a little bit of trial and error and figuring out the best way to adjust. If you can move the glass around while the door is shut, it means you dont need a third hand.
There is a tool you can buy that fits the cogs, but a screwdriver worked fine (but cover it in tape to stop it scraping the inside top of the door and maybe causing rust in the future.

Thanks for this I had to replace the passenger side window regulator and motor on a f56 mini the shape up from the r series which has the same design

On the drivers door you turn cogs left to loosen , is it same cog direction for passenger door or do you loosen the opposite way

Just take the door skin off. It's much more accessible & actually easier.

Do you mean inner door panel/door card? Because the door skin is the outer metal shell... don't think you want to take that off 😂
