Did you reinstall your fixed rockers and did it take away the rattling/tapping noise?

@@ProjectMini Awesome thanks. Will be doing this. As a matter of interest I bought brand new rockers from FCP Euro and after installing them I had zero compression on 1 cylinder, and about 1/3 compression on another and remaining 2 had perfect compression. Had the rockers checked out locally and was told they are perfect and installed them again with same results.. Installed my original rockers and compression sorted, however the tapping is back, so I will try this trick. Thanks again

I also think this may be a cause for a hot long crank to start vs cold start. This may cause valves to hang open a little to cause a long crank to start. Hot valve trains expand.

Hello, thank you for the excellent tutorials. I'm posting my question here as I believe this fix is where my problem is... I'm getting a rattle under load between 3-5k. Mid to full throttle. Seems to be coming from belt side of engine (however that's the side my steering wheel is at and I can only replicate this noise whilst driving - revving the motor when the car is stood still doesn't produce this rattle) The rattle gets quicker with revs. My guess is rockers or harmonic balancer. Any help would be greatly apreciated before I start spending. Thank you

I used a vice and pressed each of them 3 times. Then soaked in solvent. Then squeezed them to watch oily solvent push out the weep holes

Will they knock if they are stuck? My R53 will knock at certain RPMs. Not at idle Enough to hear but def under load.

Try PB Blaster for this process in lieu of WD40.....Sea foam would work only if the assembly was emersed in the solution in a tray for a while.
