Check the wiring to clutch switch / neutral circuit if theyre not bypassed correctly it can change the rev limit and fuel/ignition map.

I'm pretty sure it'll be because of the raptor fuel pump. It needs the R6 one. Other issues could include the airbox delete and the short mufflers which might be leaning out the bike past the ECU's closed loop parameters. ECU might not have the capability to adjust to that extreme, especially if its -10 out. They adjust to cold climates etc.

Yes, fuel pumps are very finicky. I put an 07 GSXR 1000 engine in my 03 GSXR 1000 and it ran like shit til I put the 07 fuel pump in the tank!

What I love about it is you're able to keep all the stock plastics and gas tank I see a lot of guys swapping out for whatever bike they got the motor out of gas because the frames hacked up to fit the motor on top instead of underneath.

Airboxes are very important with motorcycles. As soon as you remove the stock airbox, you absolutely require re- jetting, or tuning on fuel injection models! I've had this same issue many times!

Fuel Injected motorcycle don't use “ jets” they use Injectors instead. Hence the name. And its got a computer that will know if something changed and adjust the fuel and air mixture automatically or might have to plug it into a laptop or PC and change the tune on it. Jets are in carburetors and the number one reason why ppl switch to fuel injection is to get away from messing with jets. A fuel injector is kind like a jet but it's able to adjust how much fuel it spray's by what tune is installed on the computer.

I dont think deleting the airbox would cause this issue. The bike has a limited range of parameters to compensate for different climates. Even if it was lean it should still rev out. I didnt pay close attention but I'd say it's the exhaust being too short/not having an 02 sensor. The bike limits rpm as a safety because it cant accurately calculate air to fuel ratios.

It sounded like it was lean and wouldn't rev out under load. It could be a missing a sensor or just needs to be tuned since it now has a short exhaust providing less scavenging and more flow, but I doubt it since EFI is very forgiving in my experience. Maybe test for intake leaks on the throttle bodies and make sure someone didn't cap off a hose they shouldn't? You could also check if it has any codes, it will likely have a couple from things that were removed. California bike's often have extra stuff that can cause problems, like the air injection/PAIR system that could cause this if not capped off properly. Maybe also check that you are getting enough fuel, it looks like you swapped tanks and the pump is usually in the tank. I'm not sure that pump is enough for those injectors. Get a power commander, plug in a laptop, and you should be able to add fuel where it falls flat until it improves. It will also tell you if your TPS sensor is working properly. If it surges, give less fuel there. I've usually been able to get bikes running decent with street tuning, but it will never be perfect without an o2 sensor and a log or rolling road. There should be a tune that you can download to have a better starting point. It looks like it may already has a piggyback tuner under the seat? Be sure to update the firmware.

Stock raptor is 47 hp, r6 is over double that. The factory engineers are not going to use a 100hp capable fuel pump on a 47hp machine, they’ll use something like 70hp capable so it’s not running at maximum effort all the time. I would start by installing a fuel pressure sensor in the rail and logging that data, most likely going to see a pressure drop when it chokes out.

@erik120719 I've contracted in both Aston Martin laguna building prototypes several years ago and Bentley working on the w12 engines mostly automation nowadays but several engines in my living room being rebuilt polished ported skimmed valve seats grinding compression increases etc etc just some people talk nobesense without using their brains backpressure would increase load upon everything nobody increases load where they dont have too that's where advancing and retarding the spark helps for starting big singles on bikes quads etc

I had a bike bogging on me yesterday just because the connection on the ignition coil wasn't tight enough. I checked the intake, carb, fuel and compression.. just not strong enough spark. Can't wait to see the 2T-R6!

It sounded like an ignition issue for sure. Maybe a bad coil? Check the temperature of each exhaust pipe just after where it exits the engine and make sure your not losing fire in a cylinder. Also could be a float if the engine is tipped at all. Might need to clock the carbs somehow to get the bowls to fill properly? Just spitballing... Kick Azz Build!! Going to look up CBOYS and sub!

When I did my r1 raptor build I had to flash tune the ECU with a track tune. It gets rid of all the emissions controls that were deleted in the build. It also helps the ECU cope with some of the sensors being gone. There were also sensors that I had to buy a sensor delete device. It tricks the computer into thinking the sensor is still there but it's not.

ima say rn its almost 100 present the exhaust setup and the air box I've have had a lot of experience with these motors you gata hove the right amount of back pressure and on these motors the air box is very important for them to run. might be able to get away with just rejetting the carbs but with both not having a exhaust or air box im surprised it would even run at all

I think it is the exhaust , there is reasons that they design the headers the way they do , and by running two cylinders together out each side instead of all four into a collector and then out , I'm thinking that there is NO Back Pressure at all or very little and it is really throwing everything off and not allowing the engine to Rev like it normally would . This is my thoughts on it , but really cool that you guys swapped it 👍 But my money is on the Exhaust being your major problem .

I built zoomies about 10” long on a cbr1000rr just to get it running and it wouldn’t rev and had no top end power, even stumbled on the bottom, finished the exhaust out under the rear fender and ran amazing. I agree with you from experience.

I have a 02 zx6r that im doing a project on as well. Im turning it into a dirt bike. And ive been having the exact same issues, bike wont rev out, or it will when in natural but loses power under load and wont rev past certain rpm

I built a r1 raptor had same problem a custom built shorty header fixed it. On dyno it just quit making power at high rpm just goes flat up top.
