Possibly but it was not obvious or straight forward from what I could see in the menu system and there were no instructions for it

@@tweedbean found the option to change the boot logo in the factory settings, only 4 images are available to choose, some "warning" messages, will try uploading a pic though a pen drive hope it works.

It’s been a while, but yes it was a white cable I mentioned that triggers it to light when headlights are on

Hi, I have the same model in my R60 cooper S. The unit was working normaly yesterday, this morning at start the screen is black, no power on the USB plugs and no warning light on the small center screen ( ex warning light ) as if the was no power at all. Any idea or help ?

I bought the same one but it looks like some how information ( speed , tempo, etc) is heavy to see over the sunny day, touchscreen reflecting background of car when is ☀️ (summer) day. Is it the same situation at yours display?

I never really had an issue, you could always buy some anti glare film and see if that works

How do you set up the clock on a small dash where it is RMP Tacho? I disconnected the battery and i couldn't set up the clock without the old unit. In the small screen Menu also doesn't't exist clock set up.

When you add the lift kit of around 2 inches, will it affect the handling of the Paceman. Making it more like a tall SUV wobbly boat like and all over the place and no longer planted like a go cart as Mini’s are??

It probably will to some degree, but thats what I want to find out for myself and will give an honest opinion, although I have my F56 to go fast around bends so not overly bothered if it although I know you can get stiff anti roll bars etc to work with it

I have the radio installed but the fuel gauge, tacho etc.. Is lit in reverse.When the car has light it is off at the display and when the car has no light the gauge is on. Do you know why this is so? Is it the same for you?

The only issue is that now there’s an error code from the clock being reset and with the clock controls being part of the old speedo I’m at a loss for how to set it now. Did you run into that or would know of any fixes?

Have you tried to fix the Kph to Mph issue using a download file? I found a video on KZbin video by 'The Power Within You' which describes a fix for aftermarket Chinese units by downloading a .apk file from MediaFire. I don't know whether it works for this unit, but as I'm looking to purchase one like yours (after watching your great video), but it might be worth having a go. Many thanks for your really good and detailed video.

To be honest I haven’t tested it as I dont like the location of the stock usb port however if it doesn’t, there will be an off the shelf cable you can use to convert it I would imagine

So you have inspired some fake confidence here. Going to attempt this upgrade myself. Just waiting for the head unit to arrive. It took me 5 phone calls to even find a shop willing to do the work and was quoted a little over $300 to do it. Even my local mini dealership said they WOULDN'T do it because they won't install 3rd party parts. Edit to add. One of dislikes in another video of the KM thing isn't a issue here. Canadian so everything is already in KM/hr.

Yeah I wouldn’t expect Mini to fit any aftermarket parts. Honestly I cover every step in the video, just make sure you test it all before you put the dash back together so you don’t have to remove it all again if you forget to connect something etc

@@tweedbean For me it is going to be a 1 or 2 day all day project. Since like your paceman the entire dash seems to needs to be removed. Going to take the time while it is apart to wrap/paint a few of the dash pieces to color match the outside of the car. So I will for sure be taking my time and double checking everything. Also doing a few things that wasn't covered in the video. Going to run the rear cam wires, and amp wires for when I get around to doing the rear seat delete. That the wires are already done and ready to be hooked up. Should ask thou. In the video you had the console by the shifter all apart. My USB port there doesn't work. Is it an easy swap out to replace it using 1 of the 2 new usb cables that comes with the head unit?

I used the Andream unit as my R60 had the factory Screen already, its no joke how much has to be removed to get to the radio. Lots of swearing happened....

@@caddy67 I went to a shop and had it done. I have issues with my hands and fingers. After I think screw number 5 and struggling to get those out. Just said f it and paid to have them do it. Or what for normal people would take 2-3 hours was going to take me all day and night.

It’s wireless car play so automatically connects, or you can do wired CarPlay so it kicks in when you connect the cable
