do you know of any visual differences between the r62 and the r62a on the outside of the train? thank you for the replies. i recently found out that one difference is the r62 has a speaker on the outside of the car (beneath the window to the left of the middle door) which the r62a lacks.

If I'm not mistaken, a way to tell is from looking at the side destinations, R62 has 1 row of text for each station and R62A has 2 rows, but not all sets are like this

Yup! That and R62s have a slightly different pantograph gate in the front (the top being more flat) than R62As

The nine is definitely supposed to be red circle 🔴 13 rolling signs for seventh Ave lines.

The green circle 🟢 up side down 6 and 9 rolling signs still looks unique. Knowing the 9 is definitely circle Red 9 . Imagine the upside down red 6 rolling signs. The next thing will definitely be a power blue 🔵 8 just like they had the Gray 🩶 Circle L on the R62AS 1 Broadway line and the JFK rolling signs Airport R62AS 6 Pelham line and the powder circle blue 🔵 6 rolling signs.
