I'm considering an R nine T and this video begs me to ask how easy is it to "touch" the heads down on twisty roads? I know the pegs grind first, but wondering if you can use the edge of the tire without scraping the heads? I'm no expert rider, but it's nice to know I can stay focussed on the road without second guessing those cylinders. I appreciate anyone's experience.

Hi Adam, yes you are absolutely right that the pegs touchdown first. When I race my R9T, I attempt to get off and Low (head down near my clipons and knee out feeling for the hard stuff) just to ensure I can gauge the distance my heads are from the ground. Because for sure the heads touch the ground. Mine are ground down a little, but Ive never crashed due to the front lifting because of head/ground contact. You definitely need to race a boxer differently to an inline 4 or L/V Twin etc. For sure there is a clearance issue. But that just makes riding a boxer more fun. My rear tires get worn to the absolute edge of the side wall, but my front has about 10mm margin due to the clearance issues. Do a search for Nate Kern and check out how he rides the R9T....he's a "master class" R9T rider!

Hey Lijo, unfortunitely they haven't released a version compatible with the 2020 R9T🙁. In fact it appears they currently only cover 2014-2017 models.

Hello there; got the same ones but didn't installed them yet; livng in south of france where summer temp are pretty hight...no over-heating ? i wonder. Other than that, the quality is quite good for the price. Cheers !

Hey there Jonathan👍, in my experience racing my R9T with these installed, overheating has not been an issue, and I run the stock Oil Radiator (no electric fan) in 24 degrees last month. Though the hottest race month in New Zealand is February (upper 30s sometimes). so that will be the real test. But hope this helps.
