YEAH MOVIES WERE BETTER BECAUSE BACK THEN 80'S 90'S THEY HAD GOOD WRITING. THE STORYLINES WERE ON POINT TO GUIDE THE AUDIENCE IN THE TELLING OF THE STORY. NOW IT'S ALL ABOUT HUGE OVER THE TOP SPECIAL EFX AND VERY POOR WRITING. I KNOW IT'S OFF THE TOPIC OF HORROR MOVIES, BUT LOOK HOW TERRIBLY BAD THE NEW STAR WARS MOVIES TURNED OUT WITHOUT GOERGE LUCAS AT THE HELM.

I love The Rage : Carrie 2 (1999). I really love the themes. The themes represent loneliness, isolation, social acceptance, depression, desperation, abandonment, and hopelessness which absolutely and positivity established the personality of Rachel Lang. Emily Bergl did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Rachel Lang as she put tons of emotion and depth into her role. To me the movie really speaks out a personal message as it shows extreme or severe consequences and circumstances of your actions. Also the concept was more brutal, explicit, graphic, and violent 😰😱 than Carrie (1976). It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍

It was highly entertaining and enjoyable. Just got to watch it on Prime Video for the first time. Even though, the original idea of the movie was retooled by MGM to capitalize on the 1976 movie, I'd say its themes, tone and story were faithful to the OG story, specially by how timely it was back then being the peak of 1999-2000 with how the High School system and the concept of male toxicity with the football jocks was explored. And Rachel was a rather great and tragic heroine, you really end up feeling for her at the end once her rage explodes.

I just had a Carrie marathon today, out of wanting to watch the 1976 movie for the first time, that I also got to watch the "sequel", almost expecting it to be disappointing, and I gotta say, while The Rage wasn't a masterpiece and it might look dated nowadays, I was highly entertained with the movie. And despite the contrivances that MGM pull in to make it a connection, I'd say that its themes of loneliness, bullying, toxicity among peers and abuse are on par with the OG movie and story. But I think who highly stood out greatly was Emily Bergl as Rachel Lang. Honestly, Rachel was a great character and protagonist, despite falling at the same traps that Carrie fell and even worse, Rachel grew up as tough as steel under foster parents with no one to look for her, not a real friend outside of Lisa, and with a more serious outlook to the world compared to Carrie. I really felt for her a lot with my blood boiling at how those pathetic mules of "men" (and the girls) literally took her privacy away, which is why the maximum demonstration of her powers feels so cathartic because it all lead up to this. I don't believe in guilty pleasures, but The Rage understood the themes that Carrie conveyed. And even got a more tragic heroine with Rachel Lang.

Agreed 100%.. it's amazing how many people hate it for having the basic respect to the original of being 100% different than a lame re-tread like the remake was. It knew it couldn't top part 1 so they did their own thing and out come a very decent sequel that sadly just got hated on WAY too much. Put it out in the fall and I see it being more of a hit, a Carrie film in the spring was just dumb. MGM never really was smart lol.

@@damianstarks3338 Thanks I like to state the specification and classification of the purpose and interpretation of the movie in case people get confused.☺️ The Rage : Carrie 2 (1999) is one of those movies that you can not possibly forget as it's just so memorable and well-known. It is one of Katt Shea best and finest work in cinema as it addresses how difficult it is to be a young woman today. It is such a true blue modern gem. When it was first released it received negative reviews which totally confused me 😕🤔 but despite that I hold it very close to my heart as I feel it was compared unfavorably to the original (1976) rather than taken it's own merit and I even preferring it to the original (1976). Of course it's not similar to the original (1976) which I really love as it's offering a different perspective and perception of real life issues. The movie was just absolutely and positivity constructed perfectly from the very beginning to the end. They acknowledge it as a tragic love story and for the the 20th anniversary of the film Scream Factory Blu-Ray released a Collector's Edition as that made me so happy as it's finally getting the recognition and credibility it deserves as critics and audiences are fully understanding and comprehending the interpretation of the story. 😍😎💯👍

@@kaycartledge4542 Facts. The Rage: Carrie 2 (1999) is one of those movies that you root for the main character instead of the sub-character's to win. It also addresses the issues of how difficult it is to be a young woman today and it shows severe or extreme consequences and circumstances of your actions as that was Katt Shea purpose and interpretation of the story which absolutely and positivity works perfectly for the movie which made it unique and special. 😍💯👍😎 Rachel Lang had a difficult, frustrating, and hard life due to her upbringing as she lost her mother to schizophrenia when she was a little girl, lives with neglectful foster parents, and is a social outcast at Bates High School but despite that she managed to be confident and bolder which I totally admire. 😍💯👍😎 When her best friend Lisa Parker committed suicide after being rejected and humiliated by Eric Stark a popular yet cruel football jock as she was a victim of a "sex for points" game conducted by the football players as they sleep with girls, dumped them, and rate them on a point value Rachel falls in deep depression and despair as her and Lisa shared a close bond as they both have matching tattoos to symbolize it. 😭😞🥺 Jesse Ryan a popular jock yet a genuinely nice guy expressed sympathy and remorse for Lisa's death when he asked Tracy Campbell a popular yet cruel cheerleader doesn't it bother her that Lisa "offed" herself by saying she wasn't "anybody" which shocked Jesse which is why he broke up with her due to her lack of empathy. Rachel's basset hound dog Walter gets into a car accident and Jesse happens to be driving on the same road notices Rachel when she use her telekinesis that broke his car window which gained Jesse's help. Jesse takes Rachel to the veterinarian and afterwards they go to a cafe when they have a nice talk such as Jesse displaying compassion and sincerity for Rachel as she is grieving Lisa's death. The more Jesse and Rachel spend time together they both fall in love with each other despite their social status and reputation at Bates High School. For once in her life Rachel finally got a chance of happiness in life and as a audience I was so happy for her 😍 but unfortunately it backfired horribly as she became a target by the football team lead by Eric's friend Mark Bing a popular yet cold hearted jock that plot's to humiliate her for her involvement in the investigation of the "sex for points" game despite that it's covered up by the district attorney because the player's families have political influence. 😞😭🥺 Everytime when I watch the party scene my heart aches for Rachel because not only was it humiliating it was also sad because Rachel was under the impression that she finally found social acceptance and happinesses but unfortunately the bullies show their true blue faces and intentions. 😭😞🥺 Watching Rachel getting her revenge on them was so satisfying as they all deserved it as they we're very cruel and heartless as they constructed a "sex for points" game, mock and made fun of suicide which is a serious issue, and they recorded a intimate moment of a student and exposed it to everybody at a party. 😏😈 When Rachel said "I don't have anyone" I felt that in my heart as she lost everything she loves and she never felt desirable, appreciated, and loved. 😞😭🥺 The ending was bittersweet due to Rachel getting her revenge but at the same time she died knowing that Jesse truly and dearly loved her for who she was. I really wanted Rachel and Jesse to be together forever as the movie would have ended on a triumphant note. 😍😎👍💯😞😭🥺

Emily Bergl did a phenomenal and spectacular job portraying Rachel Lang as she put tons of emotion and depth into her role. To me the movie really speaks out a personal message as it shows severe or extreme consequences and circumstances of your actions. Also the concept was more brutal, explicit, graphic, and violent 😰😱 than Carrie (1976). It was decent. To this day I still watch it and I consider it a classic. It never gets old. 😍😎💯👍
