@@jackgreenwood3602 "1 hit wonder"? What was their one hit? You seem to not know what 1 hit wonder means, and I would actually argue that Ra is better than Disturbed. 'Overrated and overplayed' does not make a band good. 99% of all of Disturbed's past and even present work is dated, trendy garbage that gets lost to time. In fact, their only music that one could even call timeless is not original work, hence they were able to cover it in the first place. But even covering a song as good as Sounds of Silence did them few favors, since it quickly peaked and joined every song of theirs previously in the overplayed, obnoxious trends of its time. What's worse is that a lot of the younger generation listening to the 'new and improved' Disturbed did not even realize it was a cover when it went viral - and probably still don't. The key difference is that Disturbed always had a bigger media presence and fit in better with the 20 other some odd bands of the "Nu era" when they rose to fame; when free speech and loud noise was more prevalent. And yet, if Disturbed tried to keep true with their roots, they would be just as non-existent as all the bands you consider 1 hit wonders ages ago. They adapted, and not for the better - since it is not very often that a person shifts their taste in music entirely the opposite direction of what they grew up on. That is what makes alternative great, and why all of Ra's work hits just as hard, if not harder, over 2 decades later. That is where they started and where they remain. Disturbed is a band trying to be something it just isn't. And I guarantee that if you took a poll, majority of people would list songs like 'Down with the Sickness' or 'Stupify' in question form, if you asked them if they knew who Disturbed was. That's hardly different than a 1 hit wonder in itself. lol

When I was a teenager,I was locked up for a long time. I managed to get this song on a cd player in there. It was a living hell,and extremely violent. This was my hype song to prepare for the violence. Im glad I had it,it helped me get through the worst times of it,even if I had to get a lot of broken bones.

@@Sungodrock holy crap I didn't expect that! Wow,thank you. Yeah I made it through it,they kicked me out at 18,but with nowhere to go. I lived in a box for 3 yrs and almost starved but eventually adapted to the outside and pulled through. Now I have a life I never would have been able to dream of,I work for myself, and I have an amazing family,the most beautiful wife in the world,and 3 amazing kids. My kids will never know the hardships that were normal to me. They only know bits and pieces of my younger life,and they don't understand how I am so upbeat about it. Little do they know, and even that is too much as far as I am concerned. I chalk it up to "those hard times were so I could truly appreciate what I have now". Just so you know, I helped make sure that juvenile prison was closed down for good,so no other kids will have to go through what we did. I still fight for more oversight in juvenile detention,and my story motivated others to do so as well. I'm sure you are a regular and good person, and that this may seem crazy to you,but reading your reply means the world to me. Even though it was not your intention, I truly don't know if I would be here today without you and your music. So many times I wanted to give up, but your songs would light that fire in me and make me continue fighting to survive. Thank you for your comment and good wishes,and know this, I made it and am thriving. Bless you and all of your loved ones.
