@@Mixed_Activist I've discovered a lot of great bands lately on Spotify. I think back when Ra came out, corporate radio was shafting a lot of great bands. They just promoted what the labels wanted to and the DJs had little control in playing actual good music.

To me, RA will always be the band that never got a fair chance. They have put out quality music for years and haven't gotten a chance. Bands with half the talent have been pushed to the top, and it's annoying.

I wish I had the opportunity to listen to them back in the early 2000s when all my life revolved around was music. Unfortunately, where I live, we only had MTV Asia to feed us with all the music we knew then. I never saw Ra's music videos. I found them randomly on YT around 4-5 years ago and realised I would have loved their music even more during my college years. Nevertheless, I love the band now and Sahaj's vocals are on another level altogether. Not to mention, the band altogether is sooo good. Please try to incorporate some of your old sound into your newer albums for the sake of us peeps from that generation.

Between Sahajs voice, Bens excellent solos, PJs deep basswork, Skootas drumwork (welcome back!!!!) its just so hard to beat. Ben... I often dont like guitar solos because they often sound like someone stroking ego and dont match the song. A guitar solos greatness is not how quickly you can pluck strings... HOWEVER every last one of your solos fits the song perfectly and gives it that extra bit of dimension that helps push the song to such high levels of musical bliss.
@ryukan2503 жыл бұрын
Ben's solo is note perfect. Technical guitar solo's very rarely impress me unless it's something like Gordian Knot - River's Dancing. This is just a perfect solo that elevates the song.

Definitely excited to get back into this wicked band.

My alltime favorite. So glad you are still rocking this😍😍 man I love it so much I had to come back and add to this comment. I want you to know that you have inspired musicians and average Joe's alike all up and down the east coast. I can't tell you how many people I've played this for over the years. Like "listen man. Whole band sings this part live" and the vocal feature toward the end, such a classic. Still gives me chills. Ever since your manager gave me a signed copy of your 5-6 song demo back in like 2001. Through the years I'd listen to songs like waste of space and be pissed off with you! But songs like this one and superman are so great because everyone can apply the symbolism to their own situation, so they mean so many different things for so many different people. That's what it's all about right there

From One came out at the absolute perfect time when I and my high school buddies got drivers licenses and our parents let us take their cars out to just cruise. This CD made it into no less than 2 Ford Taurus's, a Chevrolet Lumina, a Mitsubishi Diamante AND a Mazda MX-6. Talk about a World Tour. We just drove and rocked out and contemplated weird early 2000's teenage things. We were still very much the nerds we had been our whole life, girls maybe-kinda looked at us, high school was starting to feel stupid.... Ra though, that felt amazing.
