RAA SYSTEM (Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone System)
Does the RAA system (aka: the renin angiotensin aldosterone system) just TOTALLY confuse you in nursing school? You are not alone, my friend!
The RAA system can be pretty tough to understand as a nursing student. You need to know what renin, angiotensin 1, angiotensin ii, and aldosterone do, as well as how they all interact with each other and the rest of the body.
That would make any normal nursing student's brain want to explode.

Thank you! Is it possible for this RAA system to also be activated when the blood volume is high/Normal but the sodium levels in the blood are too low, for example when somebody is well hydrated from a diet that's extremely high in fresh fruits and fresh fruit juices and salads which typically tend to be low in sodium and high in potassium? So I guess my question is would low sodium levels in the blood by themselves (with blood volume being normal) trigger the RAA Cascade?
