Hussaini todi typically also uses teevra madhyam if I'm not wrong? Tai has not used it here... if anyone knows why please comment! I would be delighted to understand

Interesting that some Langas and Manganiyars also sing a similar "Huseni Todi." It seems to be a Rajasthani entity (transmitted also to Agra gharana) .

Amazing sounds like desi todi with suddh nishad and miyan malhar phrase. Beautiful raga. Can someone tell who is playing tabla.

This is a raga, usually sung by Atrauli-Jaipur gharana artistes. I think it is very difficult to perceive something Todi in it. Heard Hussaini Kanara by Ustad Sharafat khan long back. Is there any touch? Experts may pl comment.

Nice observation, although it has Todi in its name but does not have Todi raganga at all. Other gharana vocalists sing Hussaini Todi by interspersing Todi and Asavari. Jaipur's Hussaini Todi is completely different.

todi is because of special application of komal gandhar ; very few people knew the secret like r fahimuddin dagar, dabeer khan and fayyaz ahmed of kirana including milon debnath of lucknow and yours truly; whose application makes a todi to be a real todi. most probably md dishad khan, husband of parween sultana knows the secret but extremely careful about not sharing his info-knowledge-wisdom.@@gauravdjgm

todi is because of special application of komal gandhar: convoluted ga with meend ghaseet; very few people knew the secret like r fahimuddin dagar, dabeer khan of kolkata and fayyaz ahmed of kirana including milon debnath of lucknow and yours truly; the aforesaid application ga makes a todi to be a real todi, the very ga can be noticed in garwa mai san laagi of faiyaz khan agrawale, and todis of onkarnath thakur+ kumar gandharv: tumi san laagi ratnaa mori. most probably md dishad khan, husband of parween sultana knows the secret but extremely careful about not sharing his info-knowledge-wisdom.

Instead of guessing rags in Huseni todi pls listen to Manjiri Asanare- Kelkar's ' Amodini ' on KZbin. Her Guru Madhusudan Kanetkar was desciple of Alladia's son.
