The videos of Ud. Parvez from years ago are excellent, but this blows them away. He just keeps getting better and better!

I feel this is the finest kirwani played by any sitarist anywhere in the world
@pramodnatu Жыл бұрын
Pandit Ravishankar introduced Kirwani to Hindustani Classical taking it from Carnatak Music . (Carnatak had taken it from the Iranians who were ruling Carnatak then ) (As far I know) I was fortunate to listen to Pandit Ravishankar live concert back in Sixtees at Delhi where I first heard this Raga. His recordings have become old now and the quality of the tunes is not so good. I would like to listen his Kirwani if it is played and recorded in later years

Try the old recording on YT by Ustad Mohammad Sharif Khan Poonchwala. A truly unique version of Kirwani.

I fully agree to you. I have heard kirwani multiple times across KZbin, but nothing beats this.

One shouldn't compare because what appears to be best to someone may appear great to someone else. But it is true that Shahid Parvez Khan excels most living sitarists. What sweetness of the tunes ! Truly mesmorising!

Yes. This is the greatness of our Hindustani Music where mind chastens and soul uplifts with cascading flow into eternity. I am proud to be the Bharatbasi (Indian) and inherit the lineage of Calmness and Love both in Music and Literature. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

@@debasisbhowmick9914 Please don't take it personally. Hindus are as capable of violence as an one else. So are muslims- especially against their own citizens.

It's so difficult to portray the kharraj of dhrupad taan on sitar without tambouras present! The abode of the recital becomes the instrument.... Would love to hear his kirwani in a space where the resonance returns the naad expansively. Some interesting metahasiya in jhala in the times...

Yes, but these days it is most likely an electronic tanpura (Or app)!

Sitar does not need a tanpura.

@@shouqie844 A cello does not need a symphony either, but it certainly enters opulence easier with one.
