There is a short clip of lata ji, singing strotpaath, based on this raag. You can hear it as a background, when amitabh ji is walking around a mandir, in the film ABHIMAN. one has to see the film to hear this unique piece.SD Burnan, needs a hats off for this piece.

Great program, superb classical singers, lot of education. But spoilt by the Ms Date's Marathi accented Urdu/Hindi and the unwanted Filmy songs by Mukundji. It looks like he is making use of this program to promote himself. You have a great voice but please use a different program to exhibit yourself.

He does that so that mainstream people without any knowledge in Raga Music may connect to the prakriti or mood of the raag through various excerpts from Hindi Films. They'll know that their favourite movie songs actually have its roots in Indian classical music. And, btw those filmy songs that u are talking about had been composed by brilliant minds with strong grasp over classical music(a quality that's absent in many contemporary songs.)
