So far I'm excited for the idea of what WC wants to accomplish with revitalizing from the ground up in ASA, so to speak. That said I'm very nervous to see if they can actually deliver, since they have seriously stumbled in how they've been engaging the community and handling their announcements and their history of releases already. I really do hope they come through and not getting burnt out from things like workload and community backlash.

I want more snap options, especially 45 Degree angles. Being locked into 60 degree triangles is extremely cumbersome. Like Fence Supports (especially the S+ and SS versions) you have a wide variety of snap angles for walls and the Castles and Keeps materials can snap overlapping each other creating seamless transitions. Maybe a dynamic wall section that compresses and stretches to fit a gap? In any event, there are hosts of mods that do building WAYYYYYYY better than vanilla. Just incorporate them.

It’s nice to see another classic top ten again, it’s been a while since we got one. I’d like to see all of these in Ark Ascended, specifically the better creature AI and tlc treatment. Just those two things, if done right, could vastly improve Ark. More creature votes are always fun, in particular I’m really liking a lot of suggestions in the current vote, and with mods coming to consoles the creatures of Paleo Ark will be able to really bump up the diversity of the wildlife even more. Good video Raas, in particular I like the editing style used for this one.

A lot of the points raised in this video are things that resonate with me quite strongly! If ASA can really deliver all of the promised features, alongside the things mentioned in this video, it’s going to be well worth the price imho! Creature TLCs especially, and I mean proper ones that aren’t just slapping a bleed on something and calling it a day, would be sooo refreshing to breathe new life into underused dinos! In terms of future top 10 styled content, I’d definitely love to see you go through the top 10s of the creature contest. Obviously not ranking them to avoid creator bias, but showcasing all the abilities and mechanics each suggestion has so people can make their own informed decisions! I know people may say that mechanics don’t matter, but every single creature that has been added from a community suggestion has retained the general vibe of their mechanics! That's part of the problem, when 'hype' has to be created to push sales of an unfinished product. You pay for the PROMISE of a game these days. Not a completed product that might have a couple bugs innit that needs troubleshooting. I want to see some dino meta rebalances to take it closer to the early years of ark when almost every creature had a purpose to taming them and served a niche role for size of tribe, stage in progression and abilities. With the addition of all the new maps and creatures I feel this has fallen by the way-side and many creatures are useless and completely overlooked, no longer serving any purpose in the game (both for taming and for farming). I have a few suggestions to help with this problem, in order of what I believe would make the most difference. 1. Make a server setting called "Native creature transfer only" which only allows creatures that are native to the map to be transferred on to the sever. This will help prevent creatures like the wyven and the tek strider breaking the balance of other maps. Have this setting on by default but allow non-official to turn it off if they want. Different creature variants (regular, aberrant, type R etc.) could or could not be classed as native even if that variant did not exist on the map. I don't think this would break the meta. 2. Add some wide spread environmental buff/debuffes. By this I mean do not apply it just to a single species. Some example I like are: - Cold blooded debuff: Debuff all cold blooded land creatures' speed, stam and melee when the temperature drops below 5 degC by a percent equal to the number of degrees below 5 degC. Possible exemptions: feathered creatures. -Cold region creature debuff: same as cold blooded debuff but for creatures naturally found in cold places like mammoths, wooly rhinos, dire wolfs, yutyrannus etc. Have the debuff apply for temps above 25 degC. Possible exemptions: create Scorched Earth variants for creatures that would otherwise be effected by this but are found on Scorched. - Herd buff: Herd herbivoures get a weight and stam bonus when in groups of 4 or more. -Solo buff: Increase some stats for creatures that like to be by themselves, when they haven't been near a creature of the same type for more than 2 minutes. Possible creatures: cats, bears, tuso etc. 3. Have a breading rebalance. I like the idea of a mutation count for each stat and no way of exceeding that count. acat proposed a great way of doing that with his alternative suggestion here: survivetheark.com/index.php?/forums/topic/687182-breeding-rework-for-asa/. In addition to this suggestion I would suggest that creature variants should be breedable with each other, with the babies taking on the variant of one parent. This would make sense just as different tiger etc species can mate irl. It would also reduce the number of breading lines without breaking the meta. Whether this extends to wyven and similar variants can be decided by wildcard. I DO NOT want to get rid of breading altogether as I am one of those odd people who like it and trying to great slightly out there creatures really good.

beautiful..... I had the same idea. A weather/climate system that affects the dinos you're using....... even rain will slow down your flyer; some flyers being more affected by this or not. I recommended that all flyers speed should work like a griffin or drake in that you have to dive to gain speed...... how about throw some wind in there and you can go faster if your flying with the wind and slower if you're against it. Trying to soak a base with a quetzal? How about you didn't check the forecast before you went to raid and now there's a windstorm making it tedious to stay in place? Oh shit now it's raining and your quetzal is losing stamina at a faster rate and his weight is reduced. Imagine having to plan out your raids according to the location, the weather, and what dinos you have to use.

Scorched Earth TLC. It desperately needs an expansion and more to do. Lots more caves! Lava cave in the wyverns trench? Under the colosseum? More tames specific to the map. Gimme some mini bosses and more alphas. Decay timer on adobe should be the same as metal. Better transitions between weather.

I’m kinda scared for pathfinding because there are so many creatures that I could tame just by standing on a rock, and now that it is going to be fixed, I’m in trouble. Not only that but many traps might not work anymore since you can’t just lure them straight in anymore.

Yeah and imagine if they do things like make intelligent creatures avoid bear traps and stuff like that. I would be super excited if taming was more nuanced. I would be okay with dino's being really hard to tame, but if they still run away at 66% or 75% or whatever it is that would be REALLY annoying lol

I'm surprised there were no mentions of bugs involving clipping creatures and making them disappear, teleport to the top of the map, or mesh into the ground. I've lost dinos by running across rocks and being teleported to the top of the map (though I know to hop off and sacrifice myself now). I've lost potential tames by knocking them out on rocks, as they simply disappear. I've lost so many potential allo tames because two in a group will almost always spawn on top of each other, and when I knock one out, one or both will disappear. I love this game, but losing creatures to bugs is incredibly frustrating, and I'm hoping to be freed from that experience in the new version.

i fully agree with hitboxes... i was playing a mod trying to knock out a very strong carno and it just kept "dodging" when it was in a trapped and i was clearly hitting it with my arrows... i literally couldnt hit the carno and had to go back to base and make more arrows

Agreed, I came to ark for the dinos and this is the only way we're ever getting more. Plus fantasy creatures would be way harder to predict/implement for both sides of the vote, we'd be hoping they add specifically what we want when most fantasy creatures are really variable and the devs may have to implement a yeti into scorched for example.... Dinos are just easier.

Wild mini-bosses (no dedicated arena) in every map that actually drop good loot would be nice... One of my biggest problems with Ark right now is how unbalanced combat is, especially when it comes to having vs not having the DLCs. It's not as bad now that Fjordor and Lost Island are a thing, but it forces most players without the paid DLCs to stay on those maps because they wouldn't stand a chance otherwise. Then there's the fact that paid DLC players can have nearly twenty more maximum levels if they complete the story maps. Last but not least, you should be able to return from a boss fight at a bed of your choosing, because it is absolutely stupid that you can get boss-camped.

ocean tlc is a great idea! a wider variety of ocean-floor textures could also help make it feel more dynamic/realistic. tides: i disagree. most arks are space stations. where would the water go during low-tide? did they engineer a big water pumps and massive holding tanks just to recreate the illusion of tides? (yes, maybe... but is this worth devs' time?) maybe it would be doable in gen1, since it's pure simulation. it's a neat idea, but i think it's trying to recreate IRL realism, not in-universe realism.

I still think some UI improvements are needed (if only for mod management, since WildCard expects us to start paying for mods). But anyway, regardless, that's a good Top10. Doing half of that would already be going beyond our current expectations at this point. By trying to "redeem" itself for the roadmap backlash, Studio WildCard has an opportunity with ASA to really find a new way of doing things that improves our satisfaction in how the game is handled and updated. If only the studio rethinks its approach to communicating with us (aka no silence for months and then suddenly a massive info dump when they have something to promote...), and actually considering that promoting their game/IP means giving us news and updates on a regular basis, it could be the start of a new era.

The thing I would want, most of all, is for Ark Ascended to be reverse compatible with Ark 1, so that I can transfer my character info and tames into the new game. I spent a lot of time unlocking everything and when I think about all the time I've spent breeding and mutating, I'd hate to have to do that all over again, from scratch. It would be like playing the same game, but all my save files have been erased. Everything I worked for gone. I don't think I'd be interested in playing the same game again, if that were the case.

One thing that I wished, yes I know it likely won’t happen, that you can have more options to talk to characters like H-LNA and so on. Mostly since, well unlike most people, I actually like H-LNA and how talkative she is, in fact I kinda want to have conversations with her. However, ingame, you just have a floating being that gets a “dialogue cutscene” or something like that. Like I said, I know this’ll likely not even be close to happening since voice actors are expensive, but a lonely survivor like me needs some company somehow…

- Get rid of K mode or at least not make it see through the mesh. - Make it to where players can't change ini settings rendering everything invisible; If I hide in a bush I want to know that I'm hidden. (no gamma alteration!) - Animals are map specific. (ex: you'll only find dodos on the island) This would make maps feel more unique. Trading would be more immersive - Resources are map specific? Might be chaos, might be fun. That was a fun feature of ATLAS to me.... having to travel to a different island to find different resources. - Make all flyers speed dependant on diving; add wind direction (buffs/debuff) Sky battles would be harder. Make wind affect flyers trying to be stationary for soaking bases (make it more tedious.) Wyvern pushback would be a good strat for messing up flyer soaking. - Make weather affect animals (some are better than others in certain climates or weather) Plan your raids or adventures accordingly. (weather forecast system? Make Jerboas Great Again!) - Class specialization; Some people are better at building, breeding, taming.... give us buffs for specializing, unique tools, items, assets, clothing..... they tried this with ATLAS and it just felt like they gave up. - In game programing modules. Think Space Engineers or Rust....... the ability to set animals on tasks or patrols. If you want to automate something..... there are drawbacks according to your specialization.

Nice video Raasclark. If you are open to more suggestions for ASA I have a couple. Firstly, I think the character story notes should play in order, instead of randomly. While exploring the Arks in ASE you might find Helena note 10, then Helena note 4 etc, so you just get random bits the story in no particular order. But if this was changed in ASA so that when you find what was previously Helena note 10 and it plays note 1, and then you find note 4 and it plays note 2 etc, then the notes would play in order and become a story that is easier to follow. Players may now become more enthusiastic to find the explorer notes and continue learning the stories of the Arks and of their past survivors. This idea is inspired by Neddy the Noodle’s awesome survivor story videos.

The second change is on Aberration. How cool and creepy would it be to hear the occasional piece of insane laughter or taunt from Rockwell, echoing up and throughout the caverns of the Ark. At times you might hear a faint growl and at times a whimper for his betrayal of his friends. You might be looking for a drop to transfer servers, but when you finally find one, and are within meters of it, it despawns. At this point Rockwell’s voice could play; “Thoughts of leaving, think again! You wouldn’t be the first, and you won’t be the last!” Thanks for reading my ideas, really looking forward to ASA!

I probably won't get ASA without some changes to pricing, at least for people who own ASE, then remove ase from the store and replace it with ASA idk but SOMETHING... Still, I would really like to see the cave dinos get some love, wall walking arenio, onix.... Honestly have a lot of potential now, I wouldn't mind a small downsizing to make them a shoulder mount, maybe let them inject you with stored blood, like consuming a blood pack with an extra bonus like cleansing disease or even acting like a little steroid injector..... Megalania.... Looking like monitors..... Not for gameplay, just to make me less sad.... Plus monitor babies are adorable fight me.

I think most of the lag issue in ARK is connection related. If they make it to where you need a minimum connection speed to join online the game would run a lot smoother. Specially now day even the basic internet connection is above 50mb or higher a sec.

Great vid raas! ASA is going to open up doors that the playerbase didn't even know existed. UE5 is an incredible step up from UE4, bugs will be easier to fix too which means more frequent updates.

i like these top 10, some of which I didnt even think of till watching and now need in my life...but...unfortunantly wildcard dont listen to their players/customers/community. I mean during the years of "early access" 99 percent of the comments on forums (since they didnt even have a support system) were asking wildcard to just work on the foundation of the game, making it strong. we didnt want new dinos and tek left right and centre, we were all happy waiting for new content, we just wanted the game to actually work. Now almost a decade later theyre claiming they can build entire game start to finish in a couple of months AND fix the things that shouldve been baseline and done years ago. with how much they go back on their word I can see this version just being identical to original with maybe 2-3 new features that will probably not even work as intended.

I think the biggest thing Ascended needs is optimization (not just file size). Ark runs terrible on even powerful rigs and there is really no excuse for all this spaghetti code in 2023 (Also a smaller mek like the one from genesis 2 but less over powered and with balistic weapon attachements would be cool, like the exo suits from avatar movie)

One improvment i would like to see is more accessable Equus (perhaps put rockcarrot more frequently, not present on some maps at all) and more dynamic and improved Lasso mechanic (for instance being able to tie the lasso to Equus saddle instead of holding it in hands all the time and perhaps it would be nice to be able to use that lasso instead of a leash or whatever its called (never actually used it myself) to tie creatures to railings etc. so they dont run around too much when they are on wander settings. One thing i kind of dislike about Equus is that i feel like its not spawning enough (sometimes its very hard to find at all, its either low spawn rate of Equus or too high spawn rate of Raptors that most of the time wipes Equus out pretty fast) and without carrots its very difficult to tame (immersive taming mod does great job at that but doing it vanilla without carrots is pain). In my opinion Equus is great for early game traveling but it needs some improvements and ASA has a great potential.

Honestly… even if they did include all of this… I don’t think I’d be interested in swapping to ASA very quickly… if at all… Just how this whole situation has been handled, and is continuing to be handled, has really irked me and I while I think it’s super cool to see the potential of ARK in UE5 with so many upgrades… how it’s been handled just feels like a real slap in the face to people who have been playing the game for some time now…

Honestly wish they would implement Krakens Better Dinos, I loved the way it took virtually used dino and could make them relevant and a reason to actually go out and tame them.

i hope they add actual 45 degree foundations that align with normal foundations, right now they don´t and clip into each other, it´s a tiny change with a huge impact, alot of ppl will propably stop building boxes if it´s easier to build something better

I get why people are upset about wildcard charging for the DLC. But how come nobody gets up in arms over every other studio releasing remasters of their games, even really poor remasters that are nothing but an upres, for full price or close to it?

I've been playing aberation with friends and the constant crashing in the red zone isn't fun. Also we have tether distance at like 50 but the game CONSTANTLY pulls us and the dino's we're riding onto the host A LOT. These 2 things in my opinion need to be fixed before I even look at giving them more money.

I think updated character models and more customization would be outstanding, my husband refuses to make a male character because its just some 50 year old man regardless of how you change the dials, I don't even like the female models that much. Pathing would be great among realistic creatures that will ignore you if they already murdered a creature. Also rounded foundations and walls!

As much as the older and long time players wish to see more Fantastical creatures in the game to alleviate boredom or repetition, I do not. Griffin's are about as Fantastical as I want to get because one of the main reasons I like Ark is ....DINOSAURS! RIDING DINOSAURS! COOING TO DINOSAURS! 😆😂!!!! I worry that with the slow addition of more and more Fantasy creatures it'll just morph into 'Ark But Not' and the dinosaurs will become a mere novelty and eventually ignored like all the other unpopular dinos now. I dunno, I'm also a learner and dig knowledge. Real knowledge. I couldn't tell you how many people I've met as an adult that can't name more than one or 2 dinos (T-Rex....always the T-Rex) because first of all, you HAVE to be interested in something before wanting to learn about it. I've seen Ark GIVE people that interest. In more people than just myself and my family. I've always had my cutsie lil fave dinos like any nerd growing up, but stepping into the world of Ark opened up my curiosity SO much more than it had ever been in regards to dinos. If fantasy creatures are on the docket...duplicate Ark and make it nothing BUT fantasy things. I'm sure it'd make a freaking FORTUNE, I mean I'd play it 🤣I dunno, I just kind of like the dino aesthetic and that all the really weird stuff is something you have to go huntin' for.

An enforced mutation cap. 40 total (20 per parent) seems a little low but the mutation breeding system has always been bugged.

that and raise the chance of mutations if the raise time is the same, once bred a pair of allos for a month without a single mutation in health or melee, on official having such a low chance for mutation kills the new player experience if you don't trade with others for already mutated creatures.

I really wish more creatures had stuff going for them that don't make them useless when you tame something of a similar role. Ex: why tame normal raptors when you have deinonychus? Or why have carnotaurus when a rex and allo just do what they do better? I get the part where you gradually get to tame better stuff but I wish this didn't mean making the older stuff obsolete entirely. It's something I hope so see addressed somehow in asa by giving creatures more abilities that are unique to them and giving you a reason to use even your first tames for something useful.

I just want them to add skins that can be traded like steam marketplace kind of skins. I’d happily buy a bunch of them if they kept adding new ones. It would be better than just having them all available on Genesis and it would make them extra money.

Hate to admit i love ark but the fact asa is dropping without my favourite maps i just don’t see the point of buying yet so we not only do i lose all my work I’m also left waiting until abb or crystal drops. Especially when all we’re seeing is words leaving us to only theorise and pray as per usual.

What I would like to see is different carnivore behaviors. What I mean is that carnivores shouldn't always be aggressive. This would give them more of an animal characteristic. They should only be aggressive when they are hungry. I do believe they should still attacked if they are attacked first. In addition to when carnivores aren't hunting, herbivores should steer clear of them. Neutral animals could give off warning signs to the hunter even if they aren't being attacked.

Does anyone know if the Charchar and the Rhyniognatha will be a part of the game at launch? They qualifie as base game creatures and there for should not be included in a story/free dlc map.

As far as I know, Rhyniognatha and the creature we will soon vote on will be Scorched Earth (ASA) exclusive, which releases at the launch of ASA. Every next story map will then get another community vote creature. Not sure what a Charchar is tho, or if that answered your question :o

Saddle drops w/alphas... or some other way to grind saddles. I've played since 2017 and have never found a Rex saddle at any rarity... filled 10 vaults with bp's when fjordur came out... still have never seen a rex saddle
