After just spooning on a set of tires for my wife’s Indian bobber, ordered. That’s the last time I work from the ground as I get older. Hope this works for my larger street glide tires. I love the ability to break it down into a storage bag for travel. Now hurry up and ship it! lol 😂

Dunlop D402 rear, for a Harley. The tire is so stiff, I am not too sure this wonderful looking gadget, will work "effortlessly" like the video. Remember its a steel, spoked, tubed rim, and seems without getting it just right,,,,, well, you get it. Even with no rim on the tire, a 350lb man can sit on this tire, and not even dent it in the slightest. Dunlop D402 mt90 16. Its a TOUGH tire. I would love to see it not rip the spokes out by turning the tool. Thanks, great video though.@@Rabaconda

I just ordered one of these, on the strength of this video, alone. I've got one of the circular frames & bead breaker combos. And I've never managed to change a tyre without bloodshed & a lot of swearing. I don't have a garage, or even a garden. So the fact that this unit is easy to put up & breaks down into small bag, is completely free standing & looks so easy to use makes it a good idea. I'll update as soon as it arrives.

I've stumbled upon this tire changer 3wks ago and I've probably watched this video 100x since then. It should work. However, please note that changing stiff sidewall tires (like Bridgestone Battlax and similar) will require more time, patience, extra care, drop center clamps, and skills. Do not use excessive force and take your time to develop proper technique.

As the owner of 2 motorcycles ( 2015 YAMAHA FJR1300 & 2014 HONDA CTX1300 ) I'm seriously interested in this product. I purchase my tires online, remove my own wheels and take them to an MC shop for swapping. I don't even pay for balancing, I own my static balancer. Last year I swapped the rear tire on my CTX1300, the shop that I go to scratched the rim when making the swap. In a blacked out rim an scratch is noticeable.

Yeah, that is annoying! No probs, you can do your own tires now. The duck head and all the other surfaces in contact with the rim are all made of plastic. Also the tire iron has a plastic cover. Just a note, that please check the duck head after each change. If the duck head itself gets scratched, it will start scratching next rims. But it's easily changeable

Thanks a lot for good words!! It uses a stopper pin to stop the wheel from turning while rotating the duck head. This pin will put too much pressure on a single spoke. So we are working at the moment to find a technical solution to that, ie how to stop the wheel from turning in case of spokes

Will this work with spoked wheels ?

We did a test last week on spoked wheels (on a Triumph Scrambler 1200XC and BMW GSA) and SUCCEEDED! Instead of the metal pin, we used a strap around a spoke (included with the tire changer), right next to rim, and changed the tire with absolutely no problem. I guess if you put excessive force on the spoke, then there might be still risk but a TKC 70 Rocks and Heidenau K60 Scout was no problem

The Street changer was designed especially cast wheels in mind. The biggest challenge with spoked rims we’re facing at the moment is how to lock the wheel from rotating, which is needed to use the ratchet duck head system. This is done either with a pin or a strap through spokes, but there might be an excessive force on spokes and hence risk of damaging spokes. This needs to be tested still. But it for sure does NOT work with bib mousse. You cannot use duck head to change tires with bib mousse

@@neil4634 as the bib mousse is "inflated", the tire does not go into drop center from opposite side. Theoretically you might be able to invent some ways to force it into the drop center in needed lenght, but even the mechanics with automotive tire changing machines do not use the duck head, but change bib mousses with tire irons.

How about a real-life demonstration. How about removal of a crusty worn-out tire that’s been glued to its rim for the last 10k miles or more. How about a smaller size rim size like 120/70-17 with brake rotors still on the wheel? How about an 18 inch tire with a tube?

Hi Kenneth, the tire changer fits 12-21" rims up to 7" wide. There is no need to remove the rotors as there are several insertion holes for the stopper pin. It will also include a strap for fixing the wheel in case the pin does not fit between the rotor and rim. The strap is also recommended for spoked wheels to avoid damage to spokes. It can be used with tubes as well, but there will some extra hassle with the rim lock and tubes and it might be easier job with tire irons. It removes crusty worn-out tires from the rim with ease and we will be posting more videos with these soon. Stay tuned!
