Today I test my new Street Bike Tire Changer from ‪@Rabaconda‬ against my old and trusted Tire Machine. If a tool can make my life easier or simplify a task I'm all over it. This is no exception... It is absolutely amazing. What a great and simple tool this is.

Yeah, but when you have the correct technique and are familiar with the product, it is that easy. I get that comment when I'm changing tires with my old machine as well. I have. the 3 minute dirt bike tire changer from Rabaconda. I bought it in 2017 because I moved into a smaller space. Much. smaller space. I've used professional powered changers before and the Rabaconda was nearly as effortless once I got the routine down. If they had this changer back when I rode street bikes and super bikes for trackdays I'd have had one in my garage. I used to average about 33,000 miles a year so plenty of tires were changed.

I change tires 2-4 times each season. I like to put on more knobby tires when doing offroad/gravel trips, and more road oriented on tarmac adventures. Doing this at home with as little effort as possible makes you not hate the process and you will refuse to do it. I would love to have tubeless on my T7, but I have seen so many with poor result and having to go back to tubes anyway. I may upgrade my rims at one time, then I will opt for tubeless 🔥

I have the Rabaconda gen 4, which I see they've renamed to the dirt bike changer. The street bike changer wasn't an available option when I bought it. With the dirt bike changer the one side tyre must be levered off with the tyre levers, flipped over and then just pushed off with the bead breaker. It works well enough for me, which means it must be quite good because I'm hopeless.

I did like that ratchet type arm and the working position. I just bought a tyre machine more similar to your old one ( the one from motea) and I did struggle almost as much as if I did the work with tyre spoons. Actually I switched back to tyre spoons for my last tyre change.. Your new machine seems to be an improvement. But it is still a lot "blood, sweat and tears" to change a tyre. I think I leave it for the pros in the future to save the money going to my terapeuts (geriatric, psychologist and physic)...I think.😲 Have a nice summer Thomas !!!

Hey, i use an old type , simular to the AllMaxMotor and use it for many years now and changed 30+ pairs. So when i look at this system i see some avantages: The 45° angle in Kombination with the Footstand makrs it easier to bring force on the cat without practacing gynastic on the workshopfloor. The rachet: same thing. Very nice System here . But the form of the green lever is poorly designed: with the "shovel" on it it collides with the tire outside, which is a problem mounting tires b150+. What we dont see in your video is the struggle you must have had to bring the valve back in the wheles hole with the tire half mounted. Brave of you shooting this video without a first try. There are tires that are done in 2 min. Some can realy piss you off and take 30min an a second person.
@tshansen
@tshansen 4 ай бұрын
This is valuable information mate, thank you! You referring to tires that are wider than 150? right? I'm not sure what you mean with colliding with the outside? I need to try a wider tire to understand I think. Yes, there was at least 5 minutes cut out with me pushing trough the valve of the tube 😂 I saw a video online you could just mount the tire with the tube inside... doh! Well, learning by doing. This is how I was used to do it with my old tire changer. Haha, my exact experience as well. I have changes quite a few tires and some are easy like butter, others not so much. But I find that small macro adjustments can make such a huge difference. Don't stress, just do everything right. If you understand what I mean. Yeah, since this was brand new I think it is more valuable for people to see that there are some quirks you need to learn and come by to operate it with ease. It is like this for everyone

offroad tyres are quite soft and flexible so skip the grease when unmounting the tyre so you wont slip, if you really need to lube it. Use a spraycan with water and a couple of ml of dishsoap only. But when you mount the new tyre you can use the mountingrease. Rabaconda is a good quality product that i sell quite many of, but i did not it came with grease, i hope that grease is fast drying so the tyre dont spin if you go for a ride soon after mounting the new tyre.
@tshansen
@tshansen Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'm used to a tire lube from a local cheap store, that is nothing near this slippery as the Rabaconda grease. So next time I will like you say, just spray on a little bit of soapy water. I'm absolutely blown away how great this machine works and how easy it was to operate when you get the proper workflow. This was another thing I noticed with this lube, it dried and become a little bit sticky to fast to what I was used to. So I don't think there is a problem with the tire slipping when mounted and rested for a couple of minutes. Still need to balance and mount it on the bike as well. Thank you for the comment 👏🏻

I think Rabaconda having the device at 45 degrees is a gimmick as it looks so unstable as you try to use it, trying to steady it with your feet. I saw another YTer use it and it looked equally unstable. I think they do an on floor version which would tick all the boxes for me. Thomas you're looking super trim. Ready for the beach! ;@)
@tshansen

I can tell you that this is no gimmick, you putting force directly to the ground and I can lean my whole body weight on it. you put your foot there to keep it from sliding or tipping to the other side. I was a little bit curious about this my self after seeing videos online, but you can be sure that this is much more stable than the one on the ground. But if you bolt it down, it is not going anywhere, but that will take away some of the mobility. And for me, living like I do, I can't have It in a fixed position. And with a prolaps in my lower back, well.... I stay with the Rabaconda 🤣 Thank you, been taking care of the body and mind lately. And I who bought the Olmax partly based on the video you made before, and now you buy this?… 😮😂 Kidding aside, I find the Olmax Motors to be a great quality value, and am very happy that I bought it. I often look at your videos to see what things you buy, since I know it always will be a well functioning quality item, and the Olmax is certainly in that category. 👍

Thank you very much for this opinion,really appreciate it💪👍I think Thomas is exaggerating a bit,isn't he?😉At the end of the film there are such emotions in Thomas,that I got the impression that the tool changes tires itself😊 Nice and fancy tool btw ..and only almost 500Euro. That ratched system can get broken by the time..While breaking the bead on older or hard tyres.. you will have probably to lean it ...against the wall😗 Best greetings to all OLMAXMOTORS fans. @@olmaxmotors Hello Lukasz 🙌🏻 I get easily carried away when it comes to genius inventions like this. As you know, and many others. I absolutely love the machine you have made. It has served me well for so many tire changes, high quality materials but, with that said... the guys at Rabaconda has perfected this to be just incredible easy. As customers it is great to see so much great products on the market and in different price ranges. When you compare the prices for a tire change at the shops around here. I will say that both machines are great value for money. 🔥

@@tshansen Hello Thomas. First of all,I would like to emphasize once again,that in my opinion you are exaggerated...and strongly. Let's start off with Breaking the bead "it is SO MUCH easier..." Honestly, could you expalain,because I see no difference...except that on 3:33 I see a huge tenssion on the tower and slight bending.Sooner or later the profile where the tower is being slid in ...will warp (max2h had the same problem and later they applied reinforcement there) 5:40 You are trying to pull the tyre onto the mounting head. Would it be not easier if this device would lie flatt on the ground ?? 7:00 the same . If this tool would lie flat you could use your knees or hands for help, instead of this you need to use an extra part visible on 8:50 ... On 8:57 the green bead breaker meets/hits the mounting head..This shouldn't happen if this tool is so perfect... One thing i know for sure: my tool is definitely more stable and before you change 1 tire, I will change 3. But yes,Rabaconda is a very nice and fancy product ,cost a lot and can be a good choice for...hipsters. Last thing Thomas: When you did the first movie about my changer I email you and thanked you and you said such a nice sentence: "No problem Lukas, sharing is caring.." Remeber please,that if you share again someting and care again about someone...do not affect negative somone other😉 Bye Thomas,stay safe

@@olmaxmotors Well, it is obvious that you have not tried the Rabaconda tire machine yourself. It was the first time trying it for me (I put it on film) and I applied the methods I have worked in to make your machine work easy for me. And you need to figure out some stuff that is slightly different on the Rabaconda. It is so much easier to break the bead with this than yours. hands down no competition. I have both, I have experience with both? you clearly don't. You are afraid this will affect your sales, this is clearly in your statement. I have not said a word negative about you, the machine nor Rabaconda. I have an objective view on it, you clearly don't! It is my responsibility to share my findings between the two because I get so many questions about it. You know I have owned your product for some years now, changed a lot of tires. And it is not flawless, neither is the Rabaconda. But in my opinion, like I state in the video. The Rabaconda is the better product for me. Your comment is not shining a great light on you or your product. I have recommended your product and still do.... but I'm not so sure anymore. Well, the challenge is on. I will get someone to change tires with your tool and me on the Rabaconda... and see if it is possible to change 3 tires with my one tire on the Rabaconda. That is a great video idea. Thank you 🙌🏻
