very good question. if you have a thorn in your eye it's easier to say he has a thorn in his eye. Redemption is for everyone to correct their mistakes. How can you see the Creator's greatness if you have no finger to point to, but let me ask you. Do you do right by the creator for you to point fingers? Be patient and it will all make sense. I was giving birth exactly at the transition from Erev Shabbat to Shabbat. I was only only 5 centimeters and then suddenly in a flash my baby arrived just minutes before candle lighting. I remember being slightly disappointed he was born on Hashana Raba and not Simchat Torah. But that disappointed within 24 hours turned into relief. The way that God protected me, the midwives, my baby and everyone involved. My baby’s birthday did not arrive the day of a massacre. God is the one true judge. And he made a call on the life of my child that I will always be grateful for. Even if this is something small in comparison to rescuing and the suffering of others. I still remain in shock and grateful.

May I add that these explanations for why Jews suffer can only be understood after a person has studied religion for a time. Because the beginning of study is to comprehend how generous The Creator is to humankind. We have never had the planet stop spinning, gravity doesn't rest for a single instant. We have food which grows and most people enjoy good health. There is much to be grateful for before trying to understand why events have been as they have. Start with a study of gratitude.

that story rabbi Mizrachi told about the guy in the motorcyle who came to services on shabbat and his phone rang...I laughed so hard because I was picturing it all in my head.
