Thank you for articulating the feelings of so many of us so profoundly. As a former MGS pupil who was granted the privilege of having him as a teacher, I can confirm that I too, regretfully, never took advantage of or understood his greatness. I suspect many of my classmates would remark similarly, which is a great shame. His single minded devotion to Torah was a sight to behold and something he taught us without even saying anything. What a great loss. Yehi zichro boruch.

A rare person who we were lucky enough to know, even if we didn't fully appreciate him, and pay him the true respect he deserved.

he was totally wasted as a Rebbe at MGS We would view this as a tragedy for someone so great But it was his decision to remain far away from the limelight

I was very saddened to hear about the passing of your uncle Rabbi Abraham Cohen. Thank you Rabbi Pinni for this touching eulogy. I had the zechut to be one his students too we both studied in MGS in the same class. I also had the zechut to live in his street. I always remember him walking quickly full of purpose. My father o.b.m would attend in Nach shiur, Rabbi Cohen would generally cover one posuk per shiur. Like you said he was truly a Torah giant and his humility was remarkable. Only after leaving school did I realized what a hidden treasure he was. There was nothing in Torah and worldly matters that he didn’t know and at the same time he acted with such great simplicity and humbleness. I am today a teacher and a Rabbi and I think of him a lot. I live in Israel and was looking forward to see when I visit my mother. I remember both of us attending his daf hayomi shiur in Munks before a schachris. His love for learning and teaching Torah was unprecedented . He left a great impact on all his students and will be truly missed. I am sure he will be a מליץ יושר for all of us. All the best , Yitzhak Yehonatan Cowan

Long time listener..first time commenter all the way from Sydney Australia. I’m blown away by this because it rings so true that so many us have uncles or others in our lives and regrettably don’t take advantage of the time while we still have them. Rabbi I look forward to continuing to be inspired by you… b’h

Thank you Zack -- I appreciate the feedback! Most of our lives are lived in an unconscious state -- kind of conscious, but not really aware of our amazing surroundings, and the amazing people in our lives. Until it's too late. To the extent that I am able, I want to be "present" in my life, and notice every goodness that God has blessed me with.

I knew reb avrohom in bet hakerem but I see that I didn't really know him.I remember his clothes closet being full with piles of Seforim, and how he had to be talked out of travelling to his own wedding on public transport. יהי זכרו ברוך
