Know the bad part about that is? The more legal you drive following the books to the T the more suspicious you look. I know of a few drug busts by officers because they tailed a car following thr book to the T. Popped the lights on, and off they took. That or they pull over, no return for the vehicle, and the officer sees contraband in the vehicle which ends up being a search leading to an arrest and a lot of drugs inside. Even 1 car that was actually stolen

I met them on Power Tour '99 in Albuquerque (If I remember right? It may have been at the next stop in Amarillo. It was kind of a blur already by then.) I also met The Poteet's (a APD officer nearly smashed into the Bisquick Biscayne next to me leaving a stop light), and several more big name hot rod builders. Many moons have passed, a few good concussions don't help either... I do remember it was a great time. It was the perfect decompression road trip after my 1st divorce.

Cool! We were probably not far from each other a few times. I didn't get to do as much of the tour as I wanted. I worked construction then, and my pay was delayed that week, which delayed my leaving. Then I got some bad gas in Amarillo. When I got back to Tulsa, I decided to play it safe after the meet at the Admiral Twin Drive In and put home instead of continuing on. I filled up later the next day, and the stumbling problem I thought might be an intermittent spark issue cleared up after about 15 minutes of driving. I had only had my '78 Pontiac T/A for a few weeks then. That was also a shake down run for it. It was the most reliable hot rod I have ever had.

first vid ive seen with rabbit. great storyteller for sure. as for my corvette story, it was indeed a c4. i worked at a tire shop, was pulling a customers c4 into the shop for the night. the car had, unknown to me, a fuel leak, which is why it was there, drivability. it burst into flames half way into the garage. my first thought, "oh shit, this car is fiberglass, i need to HURRY". put the fire out, no damage, all was well.

1995, and 1996 C4's are my favorite Corvettes. The LT-1 had all the bugs out of the OptiSpark (LT-4 for '96 too ), and that platform, and that was the highest evolution of the original small block Chevrolet engine. 1995 had the last and hottest LT-5 ZR-1. Anyone that scoffs at C4's, probably never had one. C4 had more new engineering tech than virtually any Corvette to their date. '96 C4 with LT-4 was nearly as quick / fast with out the exotic dual overhead cams as the ZR-1. Excellent LT-4 , C4 story Robb. Speed safely
