Raby Bay Salt Bar - Sea Water or Soleseife Soap Bar - the first soap made in the shop

I asked my Patrons to give me 3 elements to include in a soap bar and I put the suggestions into a soapy jug and drew out a winner.
Tanya wanted to see a soap that used Sea Water, Peppermint and Purple.
So I headed out to get my sea water, concocted an essential oil blend and picked my colours and then created the very first soap to be made in the shop.

This is a beautiful bar soap. I did want to say that I purchased your soap dough recipe. It is fantastic! I have been looking for a vegan soap dough and this one is perfect. I have vegan friends and could never give them an embellished bar of soap. Now I can! Thank you!

I would love to see a lather test on it? I add one tsp per pound of oil to my soap and I’m afraid to go higher because I don’t want to lose those bubbles!

I will definitely do one when they have cured. 🌊 As long as you have a good balance of oils, the lather can still be good.

I love sea salt soap and so do my customers! I live very close to the ocean as well (Vancouver Island, B.C. Canada) and would love to make a seawater soap, however, my concern is that our seawater is not as clean looking as your Raby Bay water. Is there any way I can use our local sea water and maybe clean it somehow? Should I be concerned about bacteria? Our beaches get pretty busy in the summer with tourists. Beautiful soap!

To be honest I couldn't find anyone that showed what to do if the water was not clear. There were closer spots to get water but none where I felt the water was clear enough. The PH in soap and the saponification process should take care of some bacteria in clear water

I live by the beach myself but when I tried making saltwater soap, my batter seized pretty fast. Idk what temp to soap in to prevent acceleration. 😢

I only ever soap at room temperature, but it does depend on so many things, including your oil mix and climate. It's a bit of trial and error to work out what works for you conditions
