RAC hero patrol saves five motorists from potholes - one after the other!

RAC left 2 disabled people with Autism, ADHD cancer and replacement knees and having had 3 spinal fusions in a broken down car for over 9.5 hrs with our pet dog in temperatures around 7 degrees. Failed to update us at any stage until after the 9.5 hr point. Shared our data (phone numbers) with taxi companies without our permission. Then had car moved 20 mins down the road to a services and left us there for a further 2 hrs (at least we managed to eat just before food outlets shut). Then we're told that we would get another lift to another services a further 1/2 hr down the road where we would have to wait again. When we asked where we are supposed to leave the key to our car when we were ovvered a 4th taxi, the first refusing to take luggage or pets, we were told to leave it on top of the wheel of the car in a dark car park where therre are warnings everywhere telling us theives operated in the car park and that vehicles left to long would be fined. Thankfully a recovery vehicle turned up (Not RAC) that took us all the way home with no input from the RAC (all organised by the sub contractor). We were told that the RAC would only use sub contractors as a last resort as it costs so much which is lost profit to them, also that they are woefully understaffed as they pay their operatives the bare minimum. The RACs failure caused me to miss a cancer appointment, caused me to breakdown in tears due to having no pain meds. Given that we gave the RAC 4 days notice of the need for their services (we just arrived in a car park, setting off on our holidays when the car broke down). Made it clear what the failure codes were (cylinder 3 circuit A high) meaning either the injector or the wiring to it had failed. The injectors are buried under the windscreen and therefore accessible at the road side. Told them from the outset that recovery to our home address would be required. In the end it took the RAC some 16 hrs to get us home.

I still prefer to have at least one full size spare wheel, but RAC would be good for when I get more than one flat.

did all those people getting punctures have an active RAC membership he shouldnt help out the other if they didnt have one

As far as I understand it, they can help anyone but ofcourse they'd need to pay if not a member.

Sadly. the only 'happy' RAC customer is one who hasn't broken down yet! I've been let down by the RAC on too many occasions and their broken promises have left me very frustrated. It didn't used to be like this. Now the RAC maximises its profits by providing a cut price and overstretched service that regularly fails its customers by leaving them stranded for many hours and even for several days. The RAC knows that avoiding their responsibilities results in untold chaos and misery, but undertrained and uncaring call centre staff break promises and let motorists down day in day out. 'Customer care' effectively manage this shambles by using complex terms and conditions and a range of 'cut and pasted' excuses to ignore or dismiss any complaint in any circumstance.

Surprised they didn’t try to sell them a new battery at rip off prices like they were caught out doing and ended up on the wrong side of trading standards and watchdog

2:00 he says rim is finished. WOW that's like £200_£300.. Rubbish that dent could be taken out by rim repairer in half an hour. They heat them up put them on a big lathe push it out and re-edge the rim. Cost about £50_£80 😂 even rims that are cracked they can fix them. Alloy weld and on the lathe to true up again. They have to be in bits before they're scrap.

What a lot of shit I pay £300 a year for 6 to 7 years never call out in all that time 1st time I did wouldn’t not help me as (Mot out )wet belt went on way to to mot garage for mot and wet belt I was suck on side of road a vary bad road in middle of London Thank you so much RAC real good for f,ck all £10:000 ford say new engine
