That's correct, the live stream can be converted to a VOD but the quality is much lower. So we disable that and then upload a better quality. Digital rights are currently being negotiated, we'd ideally be aiming to do HD uploads for 2013 onwards.

It's all relative. For example Kayo, the streaming service, charges $25 a month, which to me is a lot of money and as far as I know, it doesn't offer classic races. Granted, that's cheaper than Foxtel, but the point still stands.

Yep they did. Part of a deal in making an on-demand service to watch all the past races on the category, which is a shame. They somehow kept both the 2012 Sydney races available here for some reason.
