If there’s anyway for your race to end early, that’s the ideal way. No wrecks, no punctures, not a .50 cent nut or bolt. Complete motor failure after running over 700 miles solid and an 18 mile lead. Absolute legends both of them!

For the uninitiated, this is no joke. Was a chase mechanic in, '04 and '05. Anything and everything can go wrong...when you lest expect it. We had to tow, one of our buggies for hours, back to the nearest pit stop. Also swapped transmissions in the middle of the desert. Stole from another Wide Open Baja buggy, (with blown motor)(all girl team, Ryan Hunter Reys wife) Out of all the races I've done, even 24hrs of LeMans, this was the biggest thrill. JT: Orlando FLA

I think every drivers or riders has this gift of truly having a passion about what they’re doing ! I’m just an amateur of motorcycles but I’ve end up a few times in hospital and for serious reason like broken spine and more, but wile I was in the hospital I was already looking for my next bike !!!

Inside the cabin of this truck feels very similar to how a large V8 jetboat rides, in a narrow channel, except a jetboat leans into the corners. In a shallow-water jet the only question is "how much gas?"

I have been trying to get good at Trophy trucks in VR. BeamNG drive has some great examples. I have found that speed is key. Slow is bumpy, and too fast is off track. It is a fine balance.

I think they are rock guards to keep crap from getting shot up into the rear suspension, fuel cell, radiators etc.
@timmurray83823 жыл бұрын
They are extra mudflaps to keep the debris from coming up into the the truck. Also probably keeps dust down from entering the cab.
@dsauce87803 жыл бұрын
@@JacopoSkydweller ya I realize a lot of these runners have the slant heat exchangers with bottom feed through the tube chassis. Makes sense. Just hadn’t noticed in the past. Probably effectively horizontally divides the air flow.

Do these cars have differentials? 1/2/3 of wheels fly so often, so classic differentials would transfer much torque to flying wheels and loose much power. What really happens with these cars?

You have millions invested into the race and I’m a couch driver but I think the truck should be used only on race day and pre run with another truck to save it for 1000 miles of beating and not 2000 miles,, testing should be enough,
@dennislilley31903 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say. He runs 2 identical trucks. But you want the MOST seat Time in the truck you’re going to drive the hardest so.. you pre run race trucks to try and catch these kinda things. Maybe if the truck had been ran MORE over the prerunning tbey may have been able to catch an engine problem before failed
@burner-_-973 жыл бұрын
He uses two different trucks

Assuming you weren’t really rich, is it even possible to get into this sort of stuff and become a racer for a team or are all of these guys rich people who do this in their spare time, nothing wrong with that but as a young kid this seems like a fun job but also I may be better off getting rich from something then doing this when I when money
@craigkanish61272 жыл бұрын
If you really LOVE off road racing you’ll do whatever it takes. Start sweeping up a race shop, learn to weld, go to school to become an engineer. Study suspensions, engines, fabrication I mean REALLY study, get a job at fox or king, Ford, Toyota…. Dudes that are into this stuff eat sleep breath off road trucks. Pump every dime into building a truck and racing small stuff and just build on it. You may not become the next Robbie Gordon but that’s up to you.

Just wish that Johnny and CJ Greaves would make the trip south southwest and show you and all the boys southwest how to prepare a truck properly with your own dime and mindsets in control of the whole build.
@justinburleson63213 жыл бұрын
and the Dumbest Comment Award goes to... Brian Murrock!! obviously the Greaves know whats up, but if you think for a second that Menzie's team doesnt know how to "properly prep a truck" you are quite wrong. Just because he pays guys to do it, makes it no less quality. Did Johnny and CJ prep Luke McMillin's truck?
