For financial reasons, they were only confirmed to race at Le Mans

They can only fit about 35-38 cars on the WEC grids and circuits (except Le Mans). When it was only Toyota in Hypercar and a dwindling GTE field there was plenty of room for lmp2s. This year a million manufacturers entered hypercar and the switch to GT3 regs meant that there were heaps of manufacturers for that too (they haven’t been able to fit/accept Merc or Audi), so there is no longer any room for LMP2. P2s race in ELMS. They are amazing for great, close racing, but this year we have had that in both classes in the WEC anyway.

Unbelievable, WEC does it again!!!!! The action, the stories, the drama......... Why is Hypercar better than Group C? For many years it was which Porsche will win? Then it was who is playing the best political game between Porsche, Jaguar, and later Mercedes? Then it became who can play the ruleset game the best? Hypercar is just action. Sure there is BOP, but I prefer the transparency of BOP to finding out that a manufacturer simply played politics better decades later.

This track is bad for hypercars, there are no overtaking points. For F1 it serves, due to the use of DRS. What a boring race.
