Awesome landing, I think a lot of people would have tipped.

Was a rough ride back in..but we spend plenty of time practicing in the surf for such moments 👌 Have you seen some of the kayak surf vids ?
@Robonza2 жыл бұрын
yeah, I am with you on this. My son tipped over and his anchor fell out. It was dark and his kayak was anchored in the surf. You can never be too practiced.

How do you decide which kayak you want to use out there in the ocean? Hobie vs Viking.
@PaddleGuy12 жыл бұрын
Took some trials but here was my conclusion- Hobie is not made for the surf I contend with nor am I prepared to risk the expensive bill if the clever working parts and creature comforts the hobie has get broken. Viking Reload or 400 are far more fit for that purpose and very functional out wide. Hands free for chasing tuna with pedals is without a doubt more effective by comparison but I do OK with the paddle. The Hobie for me (outback now) is by far a better choice for protected water fishing like barra, bass and estuary as I am using almost exclusively lures. I may occasionally launch off a protected spot on a calm day to chase tuna on the hobie but for all other offshore work its the reload

Awesome Jas! What sort of tuna was that?

Northern Bluefin that one - good little bullet for sashimi although the bigger ones that have some more fat in them make the best sashimi

when traveling with kayaks on the car roof it makes horrible noise should you get a trailer.

Love your work. Quick question, my propelz speed 2 piece fibreglass paddle has been "binding" at the join & I always wash with fresh water. Had to use WD40 & lots of cursing to separate them . Is there a lubricant suitable to prevent this ? Thanks
@PaddleGuy12 жыл бұрын
That nut joint system is a shocker I don't use them I simply leave one of those speed paddles in the front hatch as a backup paddle in case my primary paddle breaks - invest in a better paddle. that's not from china - AT Paddles or Werner Paddles are my go to

@@PaddleGuy1 thanks so much for the quick reply, love my profish reload. I will invest in a better paddle , when we get out of Vic lockdown . Haha
@PaddleGuy12 жыл бұрын
@@alanreynolds8843 shes a good allrounder the Reload - told the guys at Viking to either supply a better paddl eor dont supply one at all as that speed paddl is shit - oh your in VIC - you have a couple of good options to get a good paddle in Capacity and Paddlesports Mega store - good luck - both good operators that will understand your needs and carry some good options

@@PaddleGuy1 already purchase & recomend Capacity . She knows her stuff .
