That Trunk Lid button is a little too close to the Turbo Boost button for my liking. Those buttons should be grouped by function. On a bumpy road, just when only Turbo Boost will save the day, the front wheel hits a pothole and Michael accidentally opens the Trunk. Kitt crashes into the Party shop killing lots of kids and some balloon strings get snagged on the rear wing. Or, Michael comes out of the Kwik-e-mart with some groceries. it's a sunny day so Kitts windows are open. Michael reaches inside to press the button to open the trunk, but hits the Turbo Boost by mistake. The car sails into the trolley bay and lands on two parallel trolley-snakes and goes skating across the car park gently pirouetting.

IndyCars are heavier than F1 but have a faster straight line top speed. F1 are overall faster on race tracks due to their quicker acceleration and extra downforce which allows them to take corners better than any indyCar could. Still I wouldn't say no to driving either.

@@jdellis71 Yeah, at 1:40 is Phoenix Raceway, a track still active today on the NASCAR circuit. A season 3 episode of CHiPs did the same thing except with NASCAR, and the female star driver was intercut with real footage of Richard Petty’s 43 STP car at Riverside.

i noticed the actual racing footage in that episode was indeed johnny rutherford ,but the car in the photos with micheal was a dan gurney designed stock block cheverolet eagle painted to look like the car johnny rutherford was driving ,but it really wasn't his car in the recorded racing footage

It’s Riverside Raceway which closed in 1989 intercut with a crash from Phoenix Raceway that is still an active track today. Turn 9 at Riverside had the same Red and White checkered walls that Phoenix had back in the 80’s and that’s why they used scenes from Phoenix. CHiP’s has a Season 3 episode at Riverside from 1979 that also did the same thing and had a scene pretending it was Phoenix Raceway, but was actually just Riverside Turn 9.

Which seat is Bonnie sitting in? From the far shot, she’s in the driver’s seat and in the close up shot, she’s in the passenger seat. That’s one of the things I never liked about Knight Rider. They would never double check in editing. Similar things like this have happened before.

She said "unshielded ignition's". The ignition systems in cars used to put out a Radio frequency that could interrupt electronics that are looking for certain frequencies in order to work properly. These being race cars of the time the ignition systems were more powerful than a regular street car ignition systems
