Outstanding video, and all I can say is that I was the fortunate one to be able to be chosen to race with Ian Douglas and Herman James, and Herman and I have raced together many times in 1/24 Retro, and now Ian is a great friend. The Car was absolutely amazing , and great thanks to Dennis Samson, who race directed the entire race and great thanks to Electric Dreams for holding and managing this great event. Super thanks to NSR, for providing the fantastic Gold ,Silver and Bronze special Ford GT40's, and who worked with Marco in making these special racing winning versions of the car !!!!

What is so funny and a backwards twist of fate is I just subbed to all notices. The funny & backwards part of it all is I received a notice from slot cars passion 23 hours prior to me posting this. I place the order for the race setup version. Click on the KZbin home button a few times to see if anything new. What do I see? the video about the making of the car I just purchased. Awesome!

Not sure if I missed it, but was that car set up with zero float on the pod?
@idwurks Жыл бұрын
The opposite; the car had lots of float but no vertical/axial movement.

@@idwurks Hmmm. Interesting. Would that would for a track with lots of tight corners though?
@idwurks Жыл бұрын
@@migo466 I don't see why not. In theory, smaller tighter tracks would benefit more from this than big sweeping tracks. I've noticed that in 1/32 racing, people really like to make the pod tight, and I don't understand why. I am under the impression that having a loose pod provides the car with slide and a more linear breakaway than the tighter podded cars.

@@idwurks Hey Ian. I definitely agree with having some float. Just that I was surprised there was no vertical float. I thought that having that body roll during tight cornering would help in reducing tipping/deslotting? (still new to the hobby, haven’t tested many scenarios, so forgive me if my ignorance is showing) 😂

@@migo466 it's actually the opposite if I understand correctly. As the body tips, it pushes the weight further away from the center (inside) of the turn. I would encourage you to try different setups on the pod :) A lot of the guys in LA run the pods very tight, whereas some of our NorCal guys run them looser, and some people in the middle. It's about tuning the car for your driving style. There's no one right way :)
