I had the privilege of being there and seeing this car and Ian and Herman’s excellent driving and it was truly a sight to behold. Total perfection. - Jeff Senske

👏👏 Ian and his car were in a completely separate race from the rest of us. A masterclass in speed. The braids on the C7R driven by Ivan and Bernart (and all of the cars I built for this race, including my own) were Sloting Plus 0.25mm racing braid. Not quite as soft as NSR racing braid, but it handles quite well and is probably 10x as durable.

I noticed also he was on the black “hard” chassis. Most if not all the Scaleauto cars seem to come stock with the gray “medium” chassis, which is super flexible (likely geared towards more common plastic tracks in Spain). The Electric Dreams track seems to prefer stiffer chassis versions (ie NSR white chassis etc).

Hey Jeff! There were fast cars with really all types of chassis at that race - from medium InFlex chassis to hard R1.5 chassis without the InFlex vanes. For ED, and honestly most of the tracks we're racing on, we opt for a medium to firm chassis which helps the car be more consistent, more predictable, and helps with cornering stability. I tend to start the weekend with the hardest chassis and work my way down if we need more grip. For NSR cars, the white chassis is the favorite at ED, and some people even run the white pod :) Text me if you wanna discuss!

Is it mandatory to change out the motor or does it come complete with a motor in it? Also why are some motors mounted sideways and some mounted straight. I'm new and would like to know.

Each racing class usually has a specific motor you have to run - in order for the field to all be level. In this race, we ran the motor that comes stock with the "RS" cars by ScaleAuto. 1/32 Slot cars have three motor orientations - the one pictured here is called "Anglewinder" where the motor sits at a big angle. The second is "inline" when the motor is perpendicular to the axle, along the center of the car, and third is "side winder" where the motor usually is parallel to the axle. They all handle a little differently, but all can be fast.

@@idwurks slightly less mad. Do you still get enough brakes or it that particular track flowing enough you're just keeping the pace up?
@idwurks7 ай бұрын
@@leeg131313 No there was not enough brakes 🤣 This year we went 13/30 and got a lot of the braking back, and the cars were much easier to drive than last year.
