what blows my mind other than the general skills etc, is how the blues shred solo makes you think 'ok, that sounds inspired by the Malmsteen's Live in Leningrad blues solo....only to find out that this was recorded BEFORE the Live in Leningrad show. Decidedly a great guitarist who is one of the best metal guitarists ever.

Racer X and Cacophony were my jams back in middle school. My uncle gave some old guitar player magazine's; I had the Paul Gilbert and Yngwie Malmsteen issues. i used to see the ads for shrapnel records behind the cover, i downloaded some songs off of kazaa and they blew my teenage mind away. from that day forward i knew i had to shred!! I did get to see bruce play with Paul at g3. When Paul was doing his get out of my yard record. I never really followed bruce, does he have solo stuff? Vinnie Moore is my favorite player along with Tony macalpine. It is crazy though I see a lot of shred videos, virtuoso videos that always seem to forget them. Even though they were out right after yngwie. Yngwie, paul, Steve vai, satriani get mentioned a lot. IMO t-mac and the Vin man are the best. And they've each put out so many songs and records of in different styles incorporating different genres. Steve Morse is great too.
