Definitely a nice upgrade in the visuals for sure. The colour grading on its own is a definite step up, looks much more natural and brings out the colours far better than the previous did.

The car models & reflections clearly are improved, as are the overall colors/tone of the game. The aspect I think that looks worse are the trackside trees/foliage. The old version I think handles the trees better because the older lighting model worked better with the tree models that are still there in the present version. So with the new lighting model and the trees unchanged since the beginning, the light reflecting off of the trees makes the trees look bad and kinda out of place. Other than that, which to me is overall very minor, the improvements go a long way towards making this sim look like one of the best sim racers out there.

The way they handled the specular reflection on the car kills the immersion to me, frankly speaking. I don't want to sound elitist, but it's 2024 already and there are a nice number of example of non-AAA race or driving-centric game that hopped into the PBR bandwagon and did a better job at it e.g. Rennsport, Le Mans Ultimate, Dirt Rally 2.0., BeamNG, Euro Truck Simulator 2, Snowrunner etc.

Simbin was bought by KW Suspensions and got renamed to KW Studios. The current team has nothing to do with the GTR2 team though. Staff changed massively over 20 or so years. If you want to experience the original GTR2 staff's work, wait until next year when Project Motor Racing comes out. Yet I still RaceRoom is a great simulation with amazing physics.

@M-hq9xz It's not hate that I say. I just comment against people like you, leaving comments you clearly know nothing about. So I tell you over and over again what they both have and tell you what Forza is actually lacking. It's just truthful, valid criticism as a fan who is genuinely and rightfully disappointed in what the new FM visuals look like after they bragged NUMEROUS times about the visuals. Visuals are a specific part mentioned numerous times. Yet, for a new gen and PC only, it does not live up to the hype they created. And you're wrong again, kiddo. You're saying I said this or other games look better than Forza. I did not claim that. In my opinion, GT7 does though. I just said this is what you do on every video. You say every other racing game looks bad. But you always say "Forza>this/that." Race Room is 11 years old. For what it is, is not bad. I never said this is bettwr than whatever. Reading comprehension...learn it.
