Nice race Chris, it's great to see you back on Raceroom mate. I've yet to give these cars a go myself despite me being on Raceroom all the time, they look totally different to drive than the usual rear wheel drive cars I've got more familiar with but looks like great fun and i'll defo be giving them a go. Yeah, the FWD is a totally different experience. For my first few laps of practice, I was running off track at every corner! But once it ‘clicks’, the cars are so much fun. You could see how my pace improved over the course of the two races… once you get the feel for it, you really start seeing those lap times come down!

It’s been my favourite combo of the last month or two, with everyone driving so well in it. Unheard of for me to feature two races in a video, and not have one crash or wreck to highlight (except for the very first T1 incident). Enjoy!

Ahh yeah that’s a shame mate, there really is only a small window of opportunity for big grids each evening. Generally it’s not my preferred time to race either, but I’ve managed to grab a couple of chances at it lately.

2:20 a pass in 130R w/o contract is essentially impossible unless you are already fully alongside b4 the corner (which is unlikely to happen unless you get a really good drive out of the previous corner, did a perfect job drafting, AND he didn't get a good drive out of the previous corner or has aero damage (and you don't). What is feasible is to set up a pass in the last chicane. Getting the timing right going into 130R is a bit tricky. You need to be a teeny bit further back going on the previous straightaway. Square off 130R and get maximum drag on the next straight. If the other car is a tad slower out of 130R and you didn't leave that space, you will hit him unless you let off the gas defeating the whole purpose. If he doesn't get a perfect drive our of 130R, a pass into the last chicane shouldn't be that hard w/ the draft. If he also gets a perfect drive out of 130R, a pass into the last chicane is doable w/ the draft, but a bit sketchy (he would have to relent or at least give you space on the inside on the first half of the chicane.)

TBH for me the best combo of current ranked races is of course Touring Classics @ Bathurst , that's proper mad racing, trying to navigate the brick over the mountain :)

Well, you are a madman! Haha. I remember trying one race in the Touring Classics, and I struggled to get around Brands Hatch, never mind Bathurst. I guess, at least there are walls to bounce off so you stay on track 🤣

Ahh mate, do it! It really does look and feel a lot fresher now. Finding big grids is still a problem, but the peak times from 7-9pm are definitely more populated now for online racing.

@@chrisrogerssimracing those peak times are exactly when I race. Have you tried the TCR cars on Assetto this week? Cupra and Elentra I believe. Just wondering if you had any thoughts Vs the race room touring cars.

Not in the game, but there’s a third-party app called Rehud that’s really good. Got a radar, relative board etc. I use it, however it doesn’t reproduce well when I screen record… so I just record the game and not the overlay when I make the video 👍

I think my Honda Civic here is from the WTCR 20 pack, that’s the most recent pack I own. But any year’s pack is eligible for these races, so there’s a broad mix of years on the grid.
