I have been waiting for your ST1200 track video, thanks brother and your commentary and pace/flow were exceptional GRACIAS! For sure, proper pitting out signaling procedure is super important and its easy to cause an accident when done improperly (Thanks for addressing it). I did my first track day on the ST1200 last week and I was delightfully surprised how competent it was and the brakes were perhaps some of the best I have experienced. I found the rearsets woefully low and the grip on the pegs were very poor in my opinion. Have you performed any modifications to the rear sets and/or pegs? What ECU upgrade did you do and do you think it was worth it? Is it still the stock exhaust? Lastly, did you run slicks? Sorry for so many questions and my apologies if you addressed the ECU before. Cheers and hope to see more videos.
@CubanRider2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments man. I'm used to the lower pegs on the S1000XR, so they're not an issue for me. Might start dragging as I become more confident with the lean angles. The ECM is the stock file, just with the limiter removed. I removed the muffler portion of the exhaust for this track day since it's really heavy, but it still sounds mild with the catalytic. Tires are Michelin Cup 2 which are pretty amazing. Got another track day in a couple of days, looking to get faster on it 🤙

Haha, two things are certain climate change and you will get faster 🤙cojelo suave and thanks for the information. Oh, I am ordering the RR brackets it is supposed to raise it 1 inch and it’s about $160 all in and I may pair it up with a universal peg from California Superbike. ✌️

Hei Mr Cuban, are you also using Power Cup 2 on the Speed Triple? Which one is actually faster compared to your S1000XR???
@CubanRider2 жыл бұрын
Yes, Cup 2s, amazing tire. I put both fast laps side by side (on Facebook) and the XR came thru just fractions of a second quicker, but that's only because I slowed down significantly on some of the last turns with the Speed Triple. The rest of the lap the Speedy was pulling ahead; it's faster for sure I just need some clear track to get better times.

What do you think would be better for just street riding, the new 765 Street Triple or the 1200 RS Speed Triple? What were your lap times like, especially relative to the XR? The Speed Triple has about 15 mph on the top end relative to the XR, though your RR and Ducati superbike buddies have at least another 15 mph.
@CubanRider2 жыл бұрын
Tom I put them side by side on best laps, and the Speed was about .3 seconds off. I have the video up on the CR Facebook page. The Speed Triple was ahead by about half a second but I lost a ton of time on 16-18, focusing too much on my BP and not carrying enough speed.

@CubanRider8 ай бұрын
What part was I going low RPM?
@Vincenzo9118 ай бұрын
@@CubanRiderin every single braking Area you were mid range RPM , that's good for that bike, but that wouldn't work on a ZX10r or a CBR 1000 RR-R for example.... That bike is easy to squeeze 80-90% of the performance out of it , which is perfect on the roads. On the track I would prefer a sportier engine , something that's asking for a redline and more involvement for driving fast...but that's just my opinion and personal taste 🙏
@CubanRider8 ай бұрын
@@Vincenzo911 I hear you. This engine has a great torque band, it can pull out of corners one gear higher than I would normally use on the S1000XR. I still need to downshift to 2nd for turn 8 though, it can help me slingshot out of turn 9 a lot better. Oh well.
