At least the new Challenger's look a lot on the outside like the old school ones. I am very pleased with my 2017 R/T. Goes fast enough for me and I love the sound and appearance. So technically my car through my policy is a four door family sedan. I pay $270 a month for full coverage on my 2017 scat at a 500 deductible, trading up from my 2016 RT. however my gpa for High School and College brings my rate down just a little. I highly recommend Progressive, they act extremely fast in regards to claims and after going through several companies I can honestly say their claim agents are unmatched. My rate didn’t raise at all, just took off my RT and added the Scat RT sitting in the dealership, they didn’t say a word. Didn’t even care about trim level beyond documentation. I can imagine for challengers it’s likely much more expensive, considering its classified as a sports coupe. If I had a challenger my rate would’ve sky rocketed

Right now everbodies v6's are producing almost as much hp as the 5.7. The r/t needs to be updated to at least 400-425hp and the r/t scat pack needs to be updated to around 525hp since the mustang gt has 460hp and weighs less. That's why all the mustang fan boys pick on dodge because their 5.0's make 85hp more than our 5.7's and only 25hp less than our massive 6.4's. And since the mustang weighs less that is why it hangs with and sometimes beats the scat.

I don't think the R/T is slow at all especially for a daily driver. 4.7 second 0-60 (stock with decent tires) for a 4200+ lbs car is impressive to me. Wider rear tires should be manditory though because you'll have a hard time gripping without them.

@Fade2BlackSS Жыл бұрын
@@viceed292 What? Scats are said to do around 4.2 0-60. I know some guys that have gotten around 3.8 in decent elevation and a good set of tires. After a good tune, ported throttle body, CAI and exhaust work I got a 4.4 0-60 with a 12.4 second quarter mile at the drag strip in my 2019 R/T when I had it. 12.7 was stock. 🤷🏾♂️ Not sure where you're getting your info from.

I wanted the Scat but there wasn’t one near me for sale for $35k or less 🤷♂️ Ended up with an RT and it’s still got some good punch. Considering I traded from a 1.4 turbo Dart it’s a helluva jump 😂😂 But it was a one owner 2015 with 29k miles serviced at the dealer it was bought from its whole life with all maintenance records, plus already has the muffler/resonator delete so sounds good too, and blacked out with the Beats Audio system so I’m not disappointed. Big shit will be the next car 👌

I own an RT SHAKER, 2015, that I love. I beat a Porsche Cayman. Not once, twice, three times. He took off a 4th time but I was lol and felt bad for him and let him win the 4th 🏁.

I used to own a v6 challenger and my buddy used to own a mustang eco boost. And stock on stock the challenger won every race by half a car! So Iam definitely pretty sure the Rt trim would beat the eco boost! Dealer numbers don’t always line up as we all know!

So basically, the difference between the SXT and R/T is the sound… because the RT won’t beat the majority of muscle V8’s… just like the SXT won’t.. only difference is SXT owners know they won’t win races lol… RTs think they will win races but get gapped like Michael Strahan
@isiah298able2 жыл бұрын
Nah it’s the whole driving experience. RTs are faster and have a lot more torque. There is definitely a gap in between because a Honda Accord 2.0 will smoke a v6 but a RT will beat it
@tyransaffoldjr2 жыл бұрын
@@isiah298able not arguing that there isn’t a gap. There’s at least a 1 second difference 0-60 between the two. The 5.7 is stronger. I’m arguing that going from SXT to R/T is not a huge difference. I won’t beat a 5.0 in a SXT or a R/T. No point in upgrading to the slowest muscle car out there, IMO. Torque and sound is the upgrade and to me, it ain’t worth it. Gotta be the Scat or T/A if I upgrade.

I'd wager the RT will hold better resale than a V6. But yeah, a stock RT isn't fast. I'm not a Dodge guy but i would think with a few grand in full bolt ons it would wake up. I've taken every RT I've raced (older and newer 8spd) in a near stock 2011 is350.

In my opinion, the comparison was still lacking. R/T is NATURALLY aspirated. It is a V8. Just the sound of the exhaust is intimidating. It is a 4dr take the gang out to the ball game. Camaro, Mustang, Subaru, and more than half of these cars are in a COMPLETE different car class. I do not buy foreign named vehicles. Almost bought the Camaro SS, drove it and LOVED it UNTIL I looked at the back seat. Maybe my 4yr old grandson can fit back there but NOT my buddy. All in All the Dodge is the Winner!!! I am not gonna race everday. I have AMPLE room for a Real 6 to 7ft Christmas Tree or a Large TV. Did I mention the rumble of a naturally aspirated V8 and especially on a cold start. Great video though fellow Texan LOVE my 2nd Charger as I LOVED my 1st.

Where are you getting a 5.8 0-60 for the rt? Iv seen multiple people get as low as a 4.9 in a stock 5.7. And iv seen more get a average of 5.2-4. Also in the 1/4 iv heard it's not uncommon to see a stock rt get as low as a 13.6

It's the safe charger to own, everybody wants scat packs and hellcats, but overlook R/T,s. I do not believe they are going to come to your home at 3 am to steel R/T chargers, challengers at the same rate they steel scat packs and hell cats, so I would consider one.
