Cool pics! I was a Raceway junkie from 68-73. Back then me and my bro hit Raceway Saturday night then US 30 drags on Sunday and Illiana once in a while. I was a Bob Pronger fan, my bro was a Ray Young fan. I wonder if you or any of your subscribers have any video from that time period, I would LOVE to see it!

U didn't mention Ted Jensen, or Bill.Rupp or Jim Koehler, 1 I grew up on Honore Street st in Calumet Park, Jim , I think we always had more fun After the Races in the pits or across the street and Ken 's Go cart tackl. Called KARTWAY , do you remember the buffet restaurant on the corner called Jardines , , all you could eat for $3.95 or if you wanted to drink while you were watching the races you could get Strophs draft for .50 cents 12 Oz cup, but I do miss the open headers and the Roaring Thunder the cheering crowds I certainly will text take these precious memories to the Grave with me Ad Always David Louis Staudohar

@@davidstaudohar8147 Well Dave I was 14 back in 68. I saved my money and bought a 60 Plymouth Valliant for 75 bucks to run in the 6cyl division at Raceway. I didn't have a driver's license, so I got my goofy 20 yr old brother-in-law to drive it for me. It only took a few races before he wrecked it LOL. But it allowed me and a couple of buddies (my pit crew) to get in and hang in the pits. We got to meet almost all of the Late Model drivers like Pronger, Kohler, Young, Kuhlman, Kemperman, McEnery, Freeman, Para, Janezyk , James (Danny Collier) Bond etc. Even met Dave Roulo who built cars for Pronger and McEnery. We often went to Kartway and ate at Jardines a few times too. I don't remember exactly what year it was, but Channel 26 was televising the Super Modified races from there I think they ran on Wednesday nights. Do you remember those cars running there? They were FAST and had a LOT of torque. They would come out of turns 2 and 4 haulin ass and carrying the left front wheel off the ground about 1/2 way down the straight! GOOD TIMES and GREAT MEMORIES.
