I knew immediately that I would learn this as soon as I heard the Piano Collections album for the first time. This, as well as Luna. Natsumi Kameoka did quite a good job arranging this to make it sound as epic as possible, although it's definitely one of the hardest, if not the hardest, pieces in the album.

Surprised I found this. You did amazing with the piece for how ridiculously difficult it is to get down.
@Arrow9100kj7 жыл бұрын
You should definitely consider covering all the tracks from Moonlit Melodies. You've already done two and with this, I can see no other track being of any challenge. Valse di Fantastica and Apocalypsis Noctis are the only other difficult ones and both arent as crazy as this. You'll gather quite some views and subs as this Piano Collection has gone largely unnoticed since its release earlier this year. Great performance!

One of the only videos I've seen of someone who owns a more expensive digital and can play worth a damn. It honestly seems like a lot of mediocre players go for the more expensive instruments thinking they're going to make them better or something.
@Tidus39604 жыл бұрын
You have something against mediocre players owning expensive instruments? :)
@bobsmith17544 жыл бұрын
@@Tidus3960 I have a problem with mediocre players acting like they need an expensive instrument, yes. It's a little annoying to see someone with beginner skills talk about how an upright action is just so bad and they really must have an expensive grand action - in a digital or acoustic. When they haven't come close to utilizing the mechanics of even a lower-level digital.
@Tidus39604 жыл бұрын
@@bobsmith1754 Digital actions tend to be more lenient towards players in some aspects of technicality. There are certain peculiarities within acoustic actions that require finer control. Hence, it's surely better to do your practice on an acoustic action if possible. An upright action is indeed limiting, although it's mostly with regards to fast trills and repeated notes which beginners won't do and I agree with you they shouldn't be complaining about.

I like and admire your technique. The repeated notes are very cleanly stuck and even. What did you like about piece? I ended up not buying the collection because I was a little disappointed by the arrangement for certain pieces. Such as noctus' theme. But I do enjoy listening your performance of them all. As always, thank you for sharing.

rach3master please do. If this isn’t good enough for you I’m eager to hear what is. Because it was close to perfection for me. Also you are the only one who challenged this hard piece, I commend you for that.

rach3master I was going to leave a comment and say how impressed I was with the way you played the repeated notes but then thought better to check if I left a comment already... What do you know? I said I was impressed by your repeated notes a year ago already. By the way, I did end up buying the piano collection eventually, due in no small part to listening to your playing. The different techniques you used for different sections of this piece, I imagine, are exactly as the composer intended. Orchestral in voice leading and texture... Beautifully played. Thank you for sharing.

@rach3master, I’m learning this right now. The main section after the intro, do you pedal on every beat, or do you use half-pedal? Full pedal, even when changing on every quarter seems a bit much for this particular section. I’m trying to experiment different ways, they all sound completely different.
@rach3master3 жыл бұрын
Been a while since I've played this. It'll depend on your specific piano. I think I would play with almost no pedal or just tapping the pedal briefly on the important beats in my case.

You might also check out my Veiled in Black, all in my FFXV playlist. Omnis Lacrima is currently on my channel home page. Thank you so much!! Edit: the only thing I can’t really do about yet is the recording sound quality, all shot on iPhone. My Yamaha N1X is still not here after 2.5 months!
@rach3master3 жыл бұрын
I listened, and you did a great job on a difficult piece! My main suggestion would probably be to take off 5% of the speed after the intro. I sense you are probably playing right at the edge of your ability, so the tempo is not always smooth as you move in and out of difficult sections. Also, this could be more of the recording quality, but it sounds a little too uniformly loud throughout. You can look for opportunities to reduce the intensity, such as when the texture is not as thick. That will in turn make the meaty sections sound more impressive in contrast.
@RichardYangPiano3 жыл бұрын
@@rach3master Thank you so much for your feedback. The loudness is unfortunate due to lack of real recording gig. And you’re totally right, this is pretty much as fast as I could do. I’ll take the tempo back a little. Again, thank you so much for your feedback!
