Guys be careful. Take everything in her videos with a pinch of salt. Margin is a very risky thing n she has not spoken about it at all. Leave alone the fact that she has not mentioned the interest charges. This surely is a paid video like many others on this channel. Margin money can only be used for futures n options and if you end up taking margin higher than the cash you hold, you may end up losing your pledged shares and say bye bye to your long term investment goals.

Ma'am you missed few points which I was looking for. 1) for what and all this margin could be used for? Intraday, Long term buying? And can we re-pledge share we bought on margin? And repeat the process countless times? 2) is there any interest rate charged for margin if I use it for "intraday"? Facts I know: This margin could be used 50% to fund your FO trades and remaining 50% you have bring in cash. Shares will disappear from your Kite holding and you can see them only in Console. Thanks for this useful video.

Zerodha doesn't even allow to place a cnc order without having full cash in funds. Margin is only for FnO and not for equity delivery. You can't even pledge in zerodha if you haven't activated FnO. That is the basic requirement and without these details making a video on pledging and that too specifically for zerodha doesn't serve any purpose. In fact its misleading. Have been your fan, please take this as constructive criticism or correct me if i am wrong.
@sachinkuntal92883 жыл бұрын
I am not aware of this but if this is the fact, then you got a valid point. I won't say misleading though (that would be too harsh)...but I can say that's just partial information sharing. I never want to deal in F&O so no point opting for this pledging stuff. 🤦🏼♂️

Yes Ashish, that's the MOST IMPORTANT point to be Noted. Because, amount from Pledged Shares can't be used for Delivery Trades, whereas it can be used only for INTRADAY TRADES. That's a Risk for Traders, if you Lose in Intraday, there would be deductions/Square-off by your Broker, in the number of Shares you have pledged. Better to avoid pledging. Instead do intraday with your minimum capital, anyway we are getting Margin from Brokers.

The biggest problem with zerodha is that the stock pledge margin is not fully available .. what ever you you use the margin to buy .. 50 percent of that margin must be available in cash.. which is extra precautions by zerodha.. other big brokers like icici and hdfc don't do that ..they give full leverage and only the margin shortage in case of loss needs to be fulfilled in cash...iifl also has the same feature like icici ..

Beautifully explained everything EXCEPT THE MAIN POINT OF INTEREST THAT WILL BE CHARGED AT 0.05% PER DAY!!!😡😡 Was not expecting this from you!!😤😤 You should be absolutely transparent!!😑😑

There is no interest charged for using securities as a collateral. However, here is something you need to remember. 50% of the margin of any position you take has to be funded using cash whereas the remaining 50% can come from collateral margin. If you don't have 50% in cash, then whatever cash is short, there is an interest on that at 0.05% per day.
