@@tomasroque3338 Well pretzels have been an established symbol of West Covina since the first episode, in the song "West Covina": "And I've never seen a pretzel this big!" That, plus she is lifted up whilst seated on a giant pretzel prop in the same number. But, a least to me, it's only a symbol of West Covina that Rebecca holds and it isn't ever affiliated with any of the residents of West Covina, suggesting that it more so symbolises a very idealised West Covina that she thinks will solve her problems. So I interpret her stepping on the pretzel as a sort of disillusionment with what West Covina has to offer, since this really represents a drastic change in her development

I feel bad for Rebecca but at the same time I feel like she really needed someone on the outside looking in as a voice of reason. Maybe there were people who served that purpose and she just didn't want to listen. Josh is not that great of a guy she put on a pedestal. He's in his 30's and works a part time job. He lives with his parents when he's in between girlfriends. He lacks any ambition other than just chilling and having "Bro" time with his friends. He's emotionally stunted. And Intellectually there's not much going on. I mean it took him forever and a day to figure out Rebecca moved to West Covina to be with him. And even then she had to spell it out for him. She's angry and sad now but in the long run. She'll realize him dumping her was the best thing for her. She really dodged a bullet.

Rachel Bloom is very intelligent to show it enough times, Bunch isn't perfect, and in fact, is obsessed. If you think about it, while a career was forced on her to fill expectations, she really did get the hang of control, something she lost shortly before Season 1. As I will binge the current season, I'm not on the up and up with the current one, but the first two clearly spell out that she's out of control and cannot be held accountable. The issues the show itself raises is very important, no question about it, but it also doesn't lie about the fact, Bunch is a woman who in real life really would cook your bunny if things don't go her way. I had a similar relationship, so in my view, it's the priest who dodged the bullet. Bunch is smart, very sexy, but also very disturbed and needs help.

@Gabriel your response ignores all the writing that has been put into Rebecca's character. Both of them 'dodged a bullet' but to be honest Rebecca is the one who would have come out worse. Josh represents lost opportunities, before she was forced down a path that made her so unhappy. Because of this association it would have been likely had she married Josh, she would have become beyond help because the thing that she thought would make her happy failed. We see this side when she (spoiler) attempts suicide on the plane, but I think that part of her realised that actually she had something to live for in her friends. If she had married Josh and then discovered that in fact she would have problems just as she's had prior to marrying Josh, I don't think that she would have had the same will to live.

love this song. i think it's funny though that so many actors (not just Americans) portraying medieval English characters are told to speak/sing in stage cockney or RP when *literally* no-one sounded like this back then. obviously you can't go too authentic bc international audiences might have trouble understanding you, but still :D
