Truly the thing that pulled me through was him. 3 months after my rainbow baby and son was finally born, my cat suddenly died. Boy, this one hurts :( I'm sobbing watching this and it wasn't even my dog. Losing a beloved pet is a pain that's very unique, and is the unfortunate tradeoff for all the happy times we have with them -- that eventually, we hit the day, usually without warning, when we have to say goodbye. My dog is 16 and I dread the inevitable so much, and I think it's making things like watching this hit so much harder knowing that the day is coming. I still mourn my childhood kitties, and I lost them almost 30 years ago. I'm so, so sorry for your loss; I know this type of pain waaaaaay too well :(

I got my first cat Billie at a point in my life when I felt completely broken. I was newly diagnosed with PTSD, long term my boyfriend had left me, and I was trying to fight my way through law school. She was a scrappy rescue, and ridiculously smart. I taught her to "sit" and "stay" (weirdo). She helped me break through the devastation of being alone. She gave me a reason to keep going. So...when I say I'm crying with you about Beau Beau...I mean I'm ugly sobbing, I lost Billie very unexpectedly last summer, and it was really, really painful. I still miss her so much. Again, I'm so sorry. Not everybody will "get' it when you grieve an animal who supported you emotionally like that. But I get it. And I wanted you to know you're not alone in these feelings.

10 years ago I lived on 42 acres and had 4 dogs, 12 kittens, and 2 horses I adored next door. Now I have no dogs. My last dog Gus passed away 2 yrs ago this week. I knew it would be awful when he left, and it was. He was my soul. I didn’t realize how young Beau was. But I have to tell you one of my dogs got a respiratory illness from something in our back yard. Our neighbors cows would come to the fence line and I believe he got sick from a fungus or parasite they were leaving in the grass. Beau was so, so lucky to have been loved by your beautiful family. You have so much going on right now. Do you know ever since you announced this pregnancy you’ve had a huge smile on your face? Every video!!! This video hit home for me. I lost my cattle dog almost two years ago very unexpectedly and sudden like you lost Beau. I had her for seven years. She was fine one day and then over the course of a weekend I had to make the impossible decision to put her to sleep because she was suffering. The loss of a pet is excruciating. I was going to say especially when it’s unexpected, but I think that there is no right time when a pet who is that loved and more then just a pet leaves us. I remember our first family dog died at age five and it was so sudden. Like brought her in and three days later she was gone. I could not stop crying. Take your time and mourn. Take care of yourself and your family during this hard, shocking change and know how much he was loved and you and your family is loved.

I had almost the same issue with my Jack Russell two years ago. He was anemic and one day he stopped eating and had to drop him off at the vet before I went into work. Got a call from my mom about two hours later saying that I had a choice to either put him down or let him live and suffer. It was the most difficult decision that I had to make but later that day my mom and sister watched him go over the rainbow bridge and I wasn’t able to because of work. Trust me I was crying but I can see that Beau was loved by you and he’ll remember that on the side. Pets are like family and they always mean so much to us.

We recently had to put a family dog down and it’s been the hardest few weeks of our entire lives. My heart is with your family as we all grieve the loss of our family members. Oh, Rachelle!! I saw this title and immediately started crying. Losing a pet is always so hard, but losing one who has supported you through some of the hardest and best times in your life is truly heartbreaking. Beau Beau was a beautiful, kind, and special part of your family! You were his world, and now he’s a part of Brynn’s. We unexpectedly lost my childhood cat a few years ago around Christmas. My parents divorced and I had a lot of friend issues in high school that he had gotten me through. I came home and he was breathing funny. By the time the vet saw him, it was worse and the tumor in his lungs was inoperable. I watched him take his last breath looking right at me, and I honestly don’t think I will ever forget that moment. Someone else said this, but some people may not understand-and that’s okay. They won’t. You can’t understand this pain unless you’ve had it. I used to be scared to ever love anything to point that it could hurt me, but as I got older, I’ve learned this loss and heartache is the price we pay for the kind of deep love we deserve. You guys are in my prayers ❤️

Started watching when you got him. We recently lost our three year old shih tzu after she was run down by a German sheppard at the walking park. I know how you feel. she was my retirement present, kept me from feeling lost and lonely through covid. My heart goes out to you. Praying for you.

He knew with every fiber of his being that he was loved so so much! I know it hurts right now but remember all the happiness and joy he brought to you.
